One of the opening announcements at this year's Xbox Showcase was the reveal of Complusion Games' new third-person action-adventure South of Midnight. It's described as being set in a "magic realist version of American South".
Compulsion Games is best known for previous titles like Contrast and We Happy Few. Its upcoming game will be released on Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass (Day One), and Windows PC. Here's a bit of PR about the reveal trailer:
"The reveal trailer gave us a sense of the place, the tone, the heroine, Hazel, and her mission to subdue supernatural creatures that have spilled into the world"

Staring off with 3 movies was a really bad move.
I like the aesthetic and feel of this.
Looked a bit stuttery though... was it supposed to be stop motion style, or was it poor frame rate?
Promising though 👍
I liked that a lot, in terms of art, vouce acting and tone of the writing. Will be interested to see what sort of gameplay it will have.
Could be interesting. Compulsion has made some decent titles and the style is genuinely unique. I’ll be looking forward to seeing more
I really like the art style, looking forward to see what the gameplay is like.
Thought for sure this was going to be a double fine game at first. No idea what the actual game is but I certainly dig the vibe.
