If you're a big Xbox Game DVR user, you may have noticed over the past 24 hours-or-so that the ability to share your clips to Twitter on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC has been entirely disabled.
The team at Xbox has now confirmed this was an intentional move, although the silver lining is that the standard Xbox app on Android and iOS still has the ability to share to Twitter - at least for now.
"We have had to disable the ability to share game uploads to Twitter directly from the console and Game Bar on Windows. You can still share your favorite moments to Twitter via the Xbox app for Android and iOS."
As you can see, there's no kind of explanation for the "disabling" of Twitter in Xbox Game DVR here, although it seems it's due to Twitter's new API pricing which reportedly costs $42,000 per-month for a "Small" Enterprise Package.
If you're still keen to share your Xbox clips to Twitter, we recommend using the Xbox app on Android and iOS as previously stated, otherwise you'll need to download the clip and manually upload it to a tweet. We pick the former!

Elon Musk strikes again. I suppose, he's going to want to recoup the billions he spent buying the cesspit that is Twitter somehow.
I wish they'd issue a statement explaining why a 1st party game performs worse on Xbox than it does on PS5.
Ok a "Statement"......
Knew that was happening after they pulled their service that allows scheduled tweets and Elon called them liars or traitors or something. Any bets on when Twitter will implode?
Wasted no time acting on this when they saw the bill… yet isnt DVR still broken and not out putting decent resolutions for clips?
@mousieone Time travel always confuses me. Are you from time timeline where that hasn't happened yet?
People do this? I thought this was the kind of thing everyone rebelled against during the early Xbox One days.
Musk is just determined for that platform to go out in a loud, toxic bang.
Never used that feature even once over the last 15 years.
@NEStalgia well the website still functions so it hasn’t imploded fully. That better
I think it's the right call by MS. Musk has destroyed Twitter with him trying to claw back money over his forced purchase of twitter. 44billion on a company he didn't actually want to buy haha. I hope more companies do the same. Twitter now is just a bigger parlour full of shouting nonsense blue ticks.
I would do the same thing if I was Xbox/Microsoft.
Muskrat using his "genius" to further flush twitter down the s-tter.
It's probably because allegedly Microsoft have been using twitter's data in a way that could be illegal. Musk has called them out on it and said he was going to pursue a lawsuit.
So this could all be Microsoft's own fault. Hence no explanation.
Facts are good 👍 Bias and presumptive attitudes aren't.
