2.5D platforming series Trine is back with its fifth entry, coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S this summer! Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is its full title, with developer Frozenbyte returning to the popular series four years on from Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince.
If you're unaware of the Trine series, it's a set of gorgeous physics-based puzzle platformers set in whimsical, fantastical worlds. None of the games' puzzle elements are particularly puzzling, but the games are fun, chilled out platformers that allow for solo and co-op play between three distinct character roles.
Trine 5 looks like it will carry on exactly where Trine 4 left off, after the series took an ill-fated turn to full 3D platforming with Trine 3. That distinct 2.5D style is what Trine nails, so it's good to see this format return for the series' fifth entry.
We don't have a proper release date for Trine 5 right now, but the team is aiming for a summer 2023 release on all platforms, including Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. In the meantime, have a gawk over these fresh screenshots down below!

Those poor 3 just can't catch a break can they?
Oh damn Trine's still going? I haven't played since the second game.
@Kaloudz Nah, they're more like straight 2D platformers with 2.5D visuals. Think Rayman (visually) but less platforming and more physics-based puzzle solving and you're about there.
@Kaloudz watch the trailer in the article to see for yourself.
Looks kind of like Lost Vikings. Which is my number one most wanted ABK IP revival.
If this were a surprise gamepass day 1 addition, I would not complain. There have been some nice surprises like loop hero, so I will dream. Not that I don't already have a huge GP backlog (Passlog? No, sounds awful)
@Kaloudz
I recommend you to play it co op
@Kaloudz
Your welcome.

I hope you enjoy them🙂
@Kaloudz
