We've got a surprise Xbox event happening this week! It's been announced that the first ID@Xbox Showcase of 2023 will take place on Wednesday, April 5th at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST.
The news was announced in a tweet earlier today, teasing "new trailers, interviews, and all the indie game love we can fit into an hour". Here's a look, along with a view of the setup for the show:
Obviously there's nothing mentioned here about new Xbox Game Pass reveals, but we'd expect at least a few announcements to crop up as part of the show - there were eight of them in the ID@Xbox Fall Showcase 2022!
You'll be able to watch this week's Showcase live here at Pure Xbox, but if you'd rather wait and just find out what was revealed, we'll bring you a full roundup immediately following the event.
Looking forward to this? Anything you're hoping for in particular? Let us know down below.

Awesome. I highly recommend people to check out the Kinda Funny XCast with Chris Charla (head of ID@Xbox) from 23rd-ish March. Was very interesting.
Most interesting point to me was how Xbox pays the ID devs for the Xbox version’s development; so essentially makes it free. But don’t block those releases from other consoles; purely pay for the Xbox version.
Also how they are scouting the world for development teams in different countries outside of the usual.
I’ll be watching as I love seeing the creativity and passion of a small team.
That's awesome! And only an hour vs that twitch 5 day marathon ***** show. I'll watch it on my demand while riding the bike, video games and exercise??
Those chairs tell me they didn’t learn the lessons of Developer Direct, stop it with the hosts and just give us a barrage of teasers and trailers!!!
@K1LLEGAL sometimes they only develop the Xbox version because Xbox paid for it, and they still are not in a position to gamble developing for other platforms until they see reception after launch.
It takes a lot of resources to make a port.
So is this like a direct of some sorts?
Hell yeah, Looking forward to this..
@NintendoByNature it is like a nindies direct with the bonus that some of them usually go directly into game pass
What kind of games can I expect from this? I'm very particular when it comes to indies so if its mainly retro looking ones or 2D side a rollers then it's not for me. But if there's ones like the Gunk, Roki and the Beacon Pines then I may be interested.
@NintendoByNature @UltimateOtaku91 Take a look at the first link in the "Related Articles" section - it's a full roundup of everything that happened in the Fall 2022 event.
Always lots of good info but it has dragged a little in the past so I hope they keep it focussed!
Xbox are already building good momentum this year with so much more to come. Its nice to see.
@FraserG Wow, if bigger indie titles like Walking dead and Valheim have been in previous ones then I'm definitely going to give it a watch.
@UltimateOtaku91 ID@Xbox is typically mostly smaller titles like Escape Academy, Art of Rally & Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, all good games. But there are sometimes games that reach critic mass like Valheim, Stardew Valley or Braid.... talking of which what happened to the Braid remaster announced in 2020 and scheduled for release in 2021?
A couple that are coming up i'm looking forward to and should be featured.
@Balta666 @FraserG good to know, thanks!
Let's hope we see something of Silksong.
@Justifier that one is no longer and "indie" but something that it will be most likely have a bigger highlight Somewhere else
@themightyant Oh, I didn't know that Braid was going to be remastered. It was such a great, great game.
@HarmanSmith It WAS but we haven't heard anything about it in almost 3 years. It was meant to launch in 2021. Silence ever since. Who knows at this point.
