Pure Xbox is the world’s biggest and best Xbox website (in our opinion), bringing you informative and entertaining content every day. In addition to breaking all the latest Xbox news, we’re also here to help inform your next video game purchase in our insightful reviews, and bring you closer to the wider Xbox community, including the exciting culture that surrounds it.
Up until now, our business has relied on advertising revenue to operate. But in recent years, many of you have asked for an alternative way to support us, including a subscription fee which will allow you to view our content without any ads. As such, we’re proud to introduce a new, completely optional paid tier, which spans not just Pure Xbox but all Hookshot Media websites – which means you'll also be able to browse Nintendo Life, Push Square and Time Extension entirely ad-free, all for the price of a coffee.
We don't believe in segregating our audience, so we have no plans to paywall any of our content behind our supporter subscription. Instead, we'll be looking to add future perks in other ways, such as discounts at our codes store or on any future merchandise offerings — we'd love to hear what other incentives you'd like to see included.
There is a complete Frequently Asked Questions section over on our supporter page where we've tried to answer everything you might wish to know. However, if you have any further questions or feedback, please ask in the comments below – and we'll update the FAQ, too.
Simply put, our supporter subscription is all about offering a realistic choice for those who don't wish to view adverts. Whether you choose to subscribe this way or continue reading the site for free with adverts, we thank you for your continued support in reading Pure Xbox.

Shakes fist at the space man
NGL, the ads were NEVER THAT BAD so I'ma stick with not paying. Though I've been actively coming back to PX multiple times daily ever since this site got revived and throughout the years I've been hooked on all the other Hookshot sites (I've gotten into reading Time Extension more frequently). The news & reviews were always great reads especially the Zenimax & ABK stuff. As long as these sites remain, I'ma keep coming back. Good luck with the memberships!
@UnusedBabyWipes Hooked... you can see what we did there. Thanks for the kind words!
@Kaloudz you know the adverts show you what you're already interested in
@Kaloudz It actually is true. Your browser history, cookies, etc.; all play a part in the ads you see sometimes.
@Kaloudz mine were showing TVs as I have been looking to upgrade mine (however right now it is only showing a black spot saying "advert" below. It may be a bug from the migration to the new system @antdickens)
Happy to sign up for this, love the coverage here and at Push Square. Keep up the great work!
@Kaloudz it's more complicated than that, but yes, Google will profile you as a user and therefore ads are personalised based on a wide range of factors — this is true of almost all online advertising.
@Balta666 more likely there just wasn't a ad to show you at that moment in time, so you got the empty box
@SyracuseSalt thanks for the kind words!
@antdickens As an android user for many years Google is currently showing me an ad about switching to iPhone...curious 🤨
It's a pretty decent price, and it's one of the few Xbox sites around - and most multi-platform sites either editorially dislike Xbox or have comment sections full of hatred for it.
So I'm happy to subscribe and support, as it's my go-to gaming site as the content is great
@Kaloudz oh yes, games and food, that's what you meant!
@antdickens Its not just Balta, I am also not seeing any ads right now, keep reloading and keep not seeing any ads. There might indeed be something broken.
@antdickens is there a way to hide the supporter icon if someone was to subscribe into this program? (Edit NVM just saw this on the faq)
Also, a way for it to be hidden not to see other's icons?
Not to start something but it gives me blue bird checkmark vibes and not wild about it (plus that icon is way too wide for my tastes)
@Balta666 So it was very successful 😂😂
Enjoy this and NintendoLife, and the ads make my chromebook sad... So, seems like a good deal to me! What I want to know is, is anyone paying and keeping the adverts!?
@Tharsman haven't considered that... but could easily add an option to 'hide all supporter badges' I guess if people really don't want to see them.
@antdickens I would appreciate it, all personal nitpicks aside, I find the infinite loop icon very distracting.
@Kaloudz There are forums here?!? I've only known of the news post comments.
@Kaloudz thanks for the suggestions, we'll certainly consider them. I do like the idea of different badges for different things but need to think about it a bit more first.

I have been reading PX since the first year or so. Lately, it also has comments full of hatred for Xbox and Xbox fans, mostly multi-account users flocks that fly from and back to PS.
Its just a different way to contribute. As long as you don't ad block the site you are helping them to earn just as much as any 'supporter'.
I've never thought the adds were intrusive on these site, so I don't feel we are being 'black mailed' to sign up. I was happy to do it simply because I use the site a lot and I can afford to.
