We're starting to hear a lot about Redfall as of late, including some very positive previews which are always nice to see just before launch! The team has also touched base with various outlets discussing different elements of the game, and a new interview reveals how long we can expect to spend with Arkane's open world FPS.
In a new Q&A with Wccftech, the team has revealed that Redfall will be about 20 hours long if you "race through" the campaign, with plenty of players expected to seek even more from the game.
"You may be able to finish Redfall in 20 hours if you race through, but for lots of people, it's going to take more than that, especially if you do Safe Houses, Nests, exploring the whole world. There's also this whole system called Grave Locks that allows you to upgrade some of your powers. I think the completionists will be happy. And then, of course, you could want to swap characters.
What you saw today was district one, Redfall Commons. It's a pretty big space, but there's actually two districts in the game. When you finish the first district, you transition to the second, Burial Point, which is another huge space. The first one is more urban, with tourist boats and the like, while the second is more rural, with farms, barns, and things like that."
Elsewhere, we've also seen a brand-new story trailer for Redfall recently showcasing Arkane's vampriric world, and we now know that the team is hard at work making the game function offline in the future. It's full steam ahead for the upcoming Xbox console exclusive, then, which lands for Xbox Game Pass on May 2nd, 2023.

@Kaloudz have to agree with you bud. I typically take my time with games that I really vibe with and watching all the previews of the game recently means that I can easily see myself trying and maxing out all characters.
@Kaloudz It looks perfect 👌
That's fairly meaty if you ask me.
Every showing, every bit of news this game looks better and better. From not being particular interested when announced this has risen up to be one of my most anticipated releases this year. Just over a month to go.
@Kaloudz agree big time, it’s nice to have an exclusive that is drumming up a bit of excitement. Love the look of it, got a stranger things vibe. Looks awesome
The 30 days from April 12th to May 12th with Ghostwire, this wonderful looking game, and then Zelda is gonna be one HELLUVA hero sandwich if you ask me.
I was initially optimistic from the previous article on this game this week. After watching IGN podcast unlocked, it’s clear this game is going to be best for co-op with the option of playing solo and it won’t be as good that way. The podcast was trying real hard to be positive but you could tell they weren’t super into it.
@Kaloudz @themightyant Just wait until you see how it looks and performs. Curated YouTube videos are nice, but I don't feel like they do it justice as it does in person.
That's all I will say.
@FatalBubbles
This is what I've been thinking as well. Even with the game looking mediocre as it does.
I'm expecting something similar to playing Left4Dead solo. IE, a snooze fest. Seems like most places aren't as optimistic about the game.
I was always on the fence for this. Good opportunity to test it out before making a decision to buy it
I’m going to wait until the offline patch to give it a shot, now that that is in the table, this game is actually back on my radar, just not on launch day.
@InterceptorAlpha I get more of a FC feel from it with the open world and such but the co-op stuff I can see L4D. Sad times.
@GamingFan4Lyf I'm already all signed up. This just adds to the fervour!
@Kaloudz to be fair most of your time will be playing Ghostwire Tokyo and squeezing in Redfall lol or will it be the other way …
@themightyant just take another swig of the koolaid buddy! The vampires don’t know what’s coming for them….
@Kaloudz Same. Arkane always gives me something I can get thoroughly lost in for a week or two. I trust them a lot.
@FatalBubbles Yeah unlocked spooked me a bit too. Funny thing though, I'm not getting the same vibe from other previews, who all seem to praise it as a single player.
I hope it turns out OK, cos I don't do Co op. Like, ever.
20 hours is absolutely the perfect length of a game, I must say! (Outside RPGs, of course).
@NeutronBomb I have GamePass so no reason to not try it, just keeping my expectations pretty low at this point.
@somnambulance 20 hours is good however if the game is great I greedily want more…
@J_Mo_Money Yup, in that month we’ll get Ghostwire Tokyo, Horizon’s DLC, Dead Island 2, Jedi Survivor, Redfall, and Zelda.
I don’t even know which ones I’ll play.
@IOI completely forgot about Dead Island 2, which actually, looks pretty good ...
That is fantastic news 20 hours long racing through campaign means probably 25 hours for me then lots more hours for side quests and collecting things.
Well done Arkane very good game length.
Is Kratos in the game, see screen shot in article 😂
This game is either gonna float around the low eighties or smash it in low to mid nighties.
Really hope it’s the latter not just for gamers but for Arkane and Xbox.
