Microsoft Announces Diablo 4 Xbox Series X Bundle, Pre-Orders Now Live

Pure disappointment.

It is just a base Xbox Series X + Diablo 4 with some cosmetic from higher-tier editions (not even a full Deluxe / Premium edition). Meh.

Well the Leak was true...

Not at all interested in the Bundle as I have a Series X and more than happy to wait for Diablo 4 on Game Pass as I wouldn't buy it at/around launch. I have Diablo 3 - never Finished the main story - so I would describe my 'interest' as casual at best. Even if Game Pass didn't exist, Diablo 4 at best would be a game I'd likely buy if I saw it in a Bargain Bin - just because its not really something I have or think I would invest my time with to 'justify' the launch price.

I guess that whilst MS don't 'own' Blizzard or Diablo yet, this may of impacted their decision to do a 'bundle' rather than a ltd edition Console design. That maybe 'too much' for a Company that's not supposed to 'own' or 'manage' the product to do...

@Savage_Joe sure they will. If you are interested in a game and in a console, there is no reason not to buy it, this a legit bargain. I just miss awesome limited editions from the past, where you get a nicely styled device that will make you happy and all you friends "wow".

@BAMozzy to be honest the story in Diablo 4 seems way better compared to Diablo 3.

Question is what happens to diablo 4 once the ABK deal goes through? Does diablo 4 go to gamepass as that will cause a riot with those who buy the game, especially if it's within 6 months of its release.

@Tomato_Goose You mean like the star wars and gears of war 360 limited editions, that gen had a lot of limited editions even with the ps3 and with Nintendo with the 3ds. But there doesn't seem to be any these last few years especially with playstation and xbox, unless it's a one off console for a competition winner on twitter lol

I'm sure plenty people bought games on Xbox that ended up on Gamepass shortly after. Besides, if Diablo 4 ends up on the service is going to be towards the end of the year at the earliest, I think.

@Moonglow Well I hope you're right as I will be playing it on gamepass as I'm getting a backbone one for handheld play next month and I feel it will be a game I'd want to play in bed, so I'm holding off buying it on release.

@Tomato_Goose It may well be - but that doesn't really make too much difference to me as its just 'part' of the whole. The Game-play loop and the style of game-play too matters as well and I wasn't particularly grabbed by that aspect.

There are 'numerous' games like this all with very similar Game Play loops - only really separated by the 'setting' and plot but I have never 'finished' any of them - getting 'bored' of the game-play and losing all interest in the 'underlying' story.

All I said was that I am not 'interested' in Diablo 4 enough to warrant buying it at launch and from past experience of playing these types of games, I have never finished any of them. Therefore, I am not willing to spend over £60 on something I don't think I will 'enjoy' enough, play enough etc to warrant owning. At best, its a game I'm willing to 'try' for free on a Sub Service OR, if that option wasn't available, pick it up in a Bargain Bin - like I did with D3: Reaper of Souls edition and still never finished it.

If it comes to Game Pass and I get 'hooked' enough that I want to 'OWN' the game, then I'll consider buying, but I won't buy unless I'm convinced its something I really want to play - I also am 'never' convinced ANY game is worth more than £50 so I'd still wait for prices to fall...

@Sol4ris I have been predicting it will join game pass when Season 1 launches, which I'm guessing will be mid July at the earliest, according to Joe Shely's "weeks later" comment in the Dec livestream. Zero chance it's Day 1 as they don't want to impact the pre orders and Day 1 sales.

If they don't hit the S1 window, then I would guess they wait 3-4 months for S2, so your year-end could happen.

Just like with Ghostwire Tokyo, the exclusivity ended a couple weeks ago, yet they waited for an open window in April when they could launch it with the DLC. They let Wo Long breath a bit and drop it to coincide with something new being added to the game.

If S1 drops in September there is no way they're adding it in the same month as Starfield, so they will probably add it with S2 in Dec-Jan.

Zero effort. They could have at least stuck a red light in it.
Also, Diablo 4 should be on Game Pass after the deal, but Blizzard said that won't be happening. Yet still people think the deal is somehow good for gamers.
All of this is just sad.

@Fishticon Wrong. They never said it won't be happening. They said "we have no plans for" game pass. ABK doesn't do game pass at all, that's part of MS arguments to regulators for why the deal will be beneficial. They've already said multiple times they will be putting the games on subscription services where they've never existed before. Even PS+ is on offer in the 10 year deal Sony won't sign.

So even if Rod Fergusson has no plans for D4 on GP, rest assured, that MS does.

@UltimateOtaku91 it will come to game pass once integration is far enough along. That might take a month or two but doubt it will take 6 months. I expect about 3-5 months for integration to happen.

Anyone that buys the game before it’s added to GP likely knows what they are doing in exchange of playing early.

I also would not be shocked if MS did offer refunds to anyone that wants it if they bought the game one week before it going into game pass, should it go into GP overnight. Most likely they will announce its GO addition with a few weeks notice to avoid that.

@Utena-mobile but it won’t come in a cool Hogwarts box (that you will either store and never see or throw away)!!! That’s some value right there with that cool box…. Right?

They could have just changed the top lightning/shade from green to red. I would probably have bought that.

@InterceptorAlpha officially XsX is $499 and Diablo 4 is $69.99 with total ~$570 > $559 bundle. So if you do not care about sales and other things and want to buy the console and this game, you save roughly $10. What a profit, is not it?

I agree. A zero effort bundle. The casing needs to be Diablo customized, the controllers should be Diablo customized, and the startup ding of the console should be Diablo themed at a minimum to warrant a bundle. Anything less is just a rip-off.

A simple red fan grille, and maybe an LED would have been ample.

@BobCoffee I'm aware. But a 2 year old console. Whereas we would typically have prices cuts by now, we don't. Which is my point.

@BobCoffee I've seen plenty of things. Have you? I'm a PC first player, so I'm buying all my parts individually. Guess what? It would be a absolute joke to buy 2 year old hardware the same price as the day it released.

The 360 release date had a price cut the second year of release. The Xbox One had a price cut the second year of release. The One X, also had a price cut the second year of release as well.

If you're cool paying the same price for an aged product, that's on you. I was fine paying $499 for both my Series Xs on launch day.
