Microsoft has officially announced the next eight titles to be removed from Xbox Game Pass, with this batch all leaving on March 15th. The list includes one major departure in the form of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy which was first added in March 2022.
Here's what's leaving Xbox Game Pass on March 15:
Xbox Game Pass: Leaving Soon (March 2023)
Date | Game | Platform |
March 15 | F1 2020 (EA Play) | Console |
March 15 | Goat Simulator | Console, PC, Cloud |
March 15 | Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition | Console, PC, Cloud |
March 15 | Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy | Console, PC, Cloud |
March 15 | Paradise Killer | Console, PC, Cloud |
March 15 | Young Souls | Console, PC, Cloud |
March 15 | Undertale | Console, PC, Cloud |
March 15 | Zero Escape: The Nonary Games | Console, PC, Cloud |
As usual, Xbox Game Pass members can get a discount of (at least) 20% on these titles before they're removed.
Quite a few of these appeared in our Pure Xbox predictions list for games that might be leaving Xbox Game Pass in March 2023, so if you're interested in what else we could be losing later in the month, it's worth glossing over the list.

Darn it, Paradise Killler and Young Souls have been on my "play later" list for a while, those 12 months flew by. I'll try to complete at least one of them before they leave. Guardians of the Galaxy is absolutely brilliant so I'll pick that up in a sale at some point as I do want to replay it.
I’ll buy to own Young Souls. The rest I either already own, had my time with, or am not interested in.

play zero escape before it leaves!!
Played Young Souls with my SO. What a good game. Cutscenes are bad but you can forward them.
Guardians is about a tenner physical now so no major issue there. Undertale is worth a play before it goes.
Yep a quick check confirms it is currently a tenner in CEX, probably cheaper elsewhere
@Dezzy70 Microsoft wont go the Sega route
@Sebatrox
😂😂😂
Like I said not my words.
@Solidchief
I hope not for sure.
So today we’re learning that a reported 5-10million dollars only gets 1 year of guardians of the galaxy? You have to wonder how much spending, let’s indeed say 10million, on a 3rd party game that didn’t particularly sell well (though I enjoyed it greatly), nor was day 1, resulted in how many new additional subs to equal a success story… as opposed to spending 10million on some marketing for gamepass and Xbox…a marketing team currently with the budget of running a twitter account.
@BrilliantBill yeah this is true…we should have known then that 2022 wasn’t going how they had planned.
They seriously need to do something about their marketing though. They can have every big game on their in the world…if they don’t tell anyone about it the sub isn’t going to grow by any significant numbers. It will be really interesting to see how they market the likes of redfall, starfield, and cod should they get it. Personally my moneys on little to no marketing for redfall. And 50/50 on if they’ll bother with any real world promotion for starfield. Cod though…they surely have to go get their brand back associated with it
Guardians of the Galaxy is really fun. A single player story driven campaign. No "live service", microtransactions, multiplayer, or grinding.
Basically the game Avengers should have been, and if that'd never come out I think GotG would have been more successful.
It's not too long so you could play it before it goes. Though one bug I encountered is that if you use "Quick Resume" over time the game will slow down. So be sure to fully quit out of it every time to keep a good frame rate.
Guardians was a great looking game and a fantastic story. Still think it would have been a great animated movie or series, the gameplay wasn't great. Definitely fell asleep a bunch in my playthrough of the game.
Im halfway done with my second playthrough of guardians..
Might drop it and buy it later down the line.
I absolutely lov3d the game and i can see why some ppl have some issues with the gameplay. For me it's fine, everything else makes up fir ir
@Bleachedsmiles their marketing is pure trash. They have a few tweets and call it marketing. You'd think they would work on some ads on YouTube or during sporting events. I believe they had some stuff at baseball games the first year the show was in GP?
It does seem like there's always more stuff leaving than there is being added. That's probably not really true, but that's what it feels like at a glance. Not too fussed about these, tried GotG and it bored me really, don't think I was in the mood for it but I might give it another try before it leaves. KRZ is amazing, but already got that on Switch and mobile.
Damn. I really should have started GotG when I bought the console in October. Oh well.
Just going to say I highly rec you guys buy the Nonary Games while it's discounted thanks to Game Pass, simply for 999 alone.
One of the best visual novels I ever played, and to more modern games, it's the grand daddy of the AI: Somnium Files Series
@ActionPanther I tried it, I could not get into it and i'm usually down for some indie action. I liked backbone. Kentucky is just too opaque, it's not fun
@Boldfoxrd
I hear you! I purchased my Series X around the same time as you. I really do think it’s an amazing system but I just haven’t played it much. Gamepass is great but for whatever reason I just haven’t been as compelled to play through my games, really need to change that. I have been playing a ton of Switch games so that could be part of the blame. Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty sweet, I’d say it’s worth a physical purchase once it leaves
Trying to finish both Guardians of the Galaxy and Paradise Killer.
