Microsoft has already announced a new Xbox controller in February in the form of the Stellar Shift special edition variant, and it looks like we're going to get another one before the end of the month in the form of the "Velocity Green".
This was leaked by the very reliable billbil-kun on Twitter this week with a redacted image of the controller along with an apparent release date of February 28th, 2023 with a price of €59,99. You can see it below:

Quite making the back of the controller white and i would buy that green one. It’s so dumb all the backs are white. Why does MS not even try it seems. Is this on us or are they just that out of touch? Or do people like the white back that don’t match the controller? Sony controllers are all the same color front and back, don’t seem that hard.
New controller variant …. You made me happy with that title. I thought the elite V3 or something or a haptic feedback one.. but no , just a COLOR variant.
Yeah nice and all but I stopped buying different colors because I am past the point that I put them on display and just see them 10 seconds before I grab it and 2 seconds when putting it down. And on top of that , I only use them 4/5 months. I exchange them if the texture on the sticks fades away so I just buy what’s the cheapest color at that time.
I’d like to see a return to the Phantom line of controllers. Getting variants of controllers ther we can just get off design lab without the white back seems a bit pointless.
Wish they would just restock the halo elite series 2 controller instead
With gyro please! Make it possible that having the option will be the industry wide standard in fps games from now on.
Was hoping for something with a gyroscope and hall effect sensors to prevent stick drift.
But nope. Just another color scheme.
1st world problem - what we all need is more plastic …
@Green-Bandit Some have different color backs, but its usually the more elaborate ones like the Shift (Lunar, Stellar), and Camo (Daystrike, Mineral) ones. Flat color ones end up being just white backs.
Personally, I would prefer if all the backs were black instead of white, simply because most chargers come with a black battery cap. Some sell white ones, but more exotic colors and you are stuck with old fashion battery pack swapping.
@Tharsman true, i just don’t like the white on the back.Think it looks cheap and unfinished. Won’t buy one.
@mousieone Yeah I would like to see some more transparent designs, the color shift has been nice though.
This looks pretty fun, but I prefer the "Stellar Shift" one they just released as that's more interesting.

I would love the customization of a steam deck controller. And a good track pad on it for rts games. Gyro for 3rd and 1st person shooters. And back buttons. I like the xbox controllers but it feels unevolved from the 360 era.
