Update: Microsoft has now confirmed these, along with a third game! You'll find more details below.
"Travel across eras this March in Games with Gold! On Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, start the month with a visit to a 1960s-era set sci-fi mystery in Trüberbrook or strategize WWII battles in Sudden Strike 4- Complete Collection, and then midmonth survive 19th century supernatural horrors in Lamentum."
Original story: Ahead of an official announcement later today, it appears we already know some new Xbox Games With Gold titles for March 2023! Two games are now showing as free for Xbox Live Gold members on the Xbox Store for the next month.
However, it seems possible that we might get some alterations to this in the official roundup - you don't normally get two games immediately at the start of a month (the second typically arrives halfway through) - so we'll let you know if there's anything else to add to this list when Microsoft formally announces the lineup.
Keep in mind that as of this past October, Microsoft will no longer be including Xbox 360 games as part of Games with Gold, so we're getting a limited selection of titles from now on.
Here are March 2023's apparent Xbox Games with Gold games, with more details and footage for each of them:
Xbox Series X|S / Xbox One
Sudden Strike 4 - Complete Collection (March 1-31)
"The Sudden Strike 4: Complete Collection offers fans the ultimate World War II strategy experience, containing the main Sudden Strike 4 game plus all five previously released DLCs: Battle of Kursk, Road to Dunkirk, Finland – Winter Storm, Africa – Desert War and The Pacific War. Sudden Strike 4 sends you off on three extensive campaigns set within the battlefields of World War II."
Trüberbrook (March 1-31)
"Enjoy an adventurous vacation to a 1960's parallel universe! A Sci-Fi-Mystery Adventure Game with handmade scenery. Imagine yourself on a vacation to Europe in the late sixties. Now, picture yourself as a young American scientist; Hans Tannhauser. Yes, that's your name in this scenario.
While you're at it, think of Trüberbrook, a remote village in rural, mountain-sloped and densely forested cold-war Germany. Because, that's where you somehow end up after hitting the continent. But who cares, you won the trip in a lottery! Or at least, that’s how it seems. But don't fear, instead of getting some rest, you could find yourself having to save the world…"
Lamentum (March 16 - April 15)
"Grau Hill mansion will open its doors and immerse you in a world of nightmares where you may be trapped forever. Lamentum is a pixel art survival-horror game set in New England in the mid-nineteenth century. To solve the dark secret at the heart of Grau Hill Mansion, you will have to immerse yourself in a nightmare world full of terrible creatures."

Shall be added to never be played as with every month
Omg Truberbrook the master piece.
Holy crap! Both games were on my wishlist!! For once, Microsoft gave a good lineup after discontinuing the BC titles. Now as for getting both right now, either we're back to 4 games a month or they're adding both on the same day like PS+.
Nice ones! Sudden Strike was on my wish list!
Nice! Sudden Strike is on my wish list, and though I've never heard of Truberbrook, it certainly looks better than we've had of recent. A better than average month, for once...
Still interested in Truberbrook, despite that terrible marketing copy. Yeesh.
This is a good month!
Thank you Xbox
3 possible outcomes come to mind regarding there being 2 at the beginning of the month:
1. Just a simple error and these aren't the GWG games
2. Microsoft are increasing the number of games, perhaps returning to 4 like they did before 360 GWG ended
3. Gold is ending in April and this is the sendoff
Not as good as For the King last month but I'm down to try Sudden Strike.
GWG is on a roll, 2 months in a row that aren't completely ignorable for me.
Great month, love sudden strike.
Ok Lamentum looks pretty neat. I actually like this lineup more than PS+.
Glad to see some people excited at least. Can't say I'm in the same boat, but GWG pleasing some people is a milestone since they dropped 360 & OG Xbox games.
I've never heard of any of these but the first two look like actually potentially decent games for the first time in like 2 years!
I'm actually interested in all 3, lamentum looks pretty cool
Might be worth checking out. Nice.
I'm normally pretty critical of GwG, but I have to say this is not a bad selection of freebies at all.
Whilst they are not likely to be played by me, I'm at least not offended by the offering, and I think many people will play these ones - which we cant say every month
Good job MS
Meanwhile PS+ Essential gets Microsoft's own Minecraft Legends. 2 months ago they got Fallout 76. Microsoft treats PS+ subscribers better than Gold subscribers.
Surprisingly good month. Sudden Strike 4 looks like its worth a dabble after dipping my toes back into RTS with AOE3 last month...
PS+ extra got Evil Dead, Mafia Definitive Ed, Destiny 2, Horizon Forbidden West, The Quary, Borderlands 3, Outriders.
PS+>>>>>Game Pass
@RealFrowns However, both of those are on (or will be on) Game Pass along with a LOT of other great games inc Forza, Redfall, Goldeneye, Hi-Fi Rush, Fallout 4, Doom, FH5 etc. I bet with 'EA Access', as part of GP Ultimate I can play BF2042 too anyway. Code Vein has been on Game Pass (I'm sure) if it's not already, so you can (or could) PLAY all these on Xbox.
Gold itself may not give you the 'best' games for your 'tiny' monthly fee that you buy for Online access to games as it was 'originally' before they added 'value' by adding monthly games. You can 'argue' PS+ is 'better' than Gold, but GPU is 'better' than PS+ Premium tiers but both PS+ and Gold are essential to play MOST games on these 'Premium' Consoles so getting 'any' games, especially as the 'cost' is so low vs cost of 24+ games over a year, you are still 'better' off than 'without' Gold, still brings 'value'.
If its that 'upsetting' to you, I can recommend Game Pass Ultimate - not only do you get PC Game Pass and Cloud Game Pass to play 'anywhere', you also get EA Access and Gold on Xbox too so you can play all the 'new' games coming to Game Pass this month as well as the Gold games and play both Minecraft and BF2042 too.
I have a PS5 and a PS5 'Essential' tier subscription, but I could play these on Xbox at no extra cost to me. I can't say these Gold games appeal to me, but then with Game Pass, I'm not exactly 'lacking' in options of games to play. I know its a 'small' increase in monthly outlay, but then I don't need to spend any extra money to play a lot of 'new' games every month...
Truberbrook is excellent, really cool experience. Not a bad set of games for the first time in a long time. Obviously could put better titles but this passes for this month.
Lamentum is excellent.
Games With Fools Gold
garbage again
Well this is rubbish, why don’t hey just bin Good and….hang on, what madness is this?
Three really interesting games there. An actual good month for once.
@Sebatrox losing subs? Fake news. PS+ has millions more subs than Game Pass. An you laugh at old games, 12 month aint old!! One of the biggest games on Game Pass at the mo is that vampire game!! How old is that??? It looks like a NES game!!! Where are the day 1 exclusive games??? We’ve had 2 in over 2 years!!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
WTF is Xbox doing, I cant rag on these titles, I actually like the look of all 3.
@Sebatrox i know. I don’t see your point???
Sudden Strike 4 and all its DLC is a great addition. I have the base game already but always been tempted by the DLC. Superb game for RTS fans.
@northernmonkey75 The extras are well worth checking out. Great game, i got it a year ago in a sale.
