Right, we're not going overboard in saying we've got a potential GOTY candidate coming next month are we?! Seriously, Resident Evil 4 Remake continues to look that good, and there's even more good news - you'll be able to play the game early, "soon".
During yesterday's State of Play trailer, Capcom not only showcased some late game stages of its RE4 remake, the team also announced that a free playable demo is coming in the run up to launch, and a free 'Mercenaries Mode' DLC is arriving after launch.

Now, Capcom didn't reveal any info about what stages the demo includes, or a demo release date other than sometime "soon". There was no mention of PlayStation exclusivity though, so we're fully expecting this demo to hit Xbox as well, whenever it arrives.
Given that Resident Evil 4 launches on Xbox Series X and S on March 24th, we should know more about this gameplay demo very, very soon. All aboard the RE4 Remake hype train - we've got one month to go!
Are you excited for Resident Evil 4 next month? You could say that we are!

Really hope the demo isn't limited this time. That's beyond infuriating.
@northofthewall Why? The pre-release Village demo was on Xbox, and you'd think any PS exclusivity would have been highlighted at State of Play.
Capcom has done exclusive demos before but we have no reason to believe this one will be. Hopefully we'll know more soon!
The only way I need a demo is if I can start the game early like Square demos. Already preordered. Can’t wait for this one!
@northofthewall Yep, I remember that one being exclusive but it came way before launch from what I remember. I'm willing this one into Xbox existence either way 😄
Good stuff. Can't wait to check out the demo..
I Love how Purexbox posts this article with the video that shows "PS5 and PS4 games" on the video thumbnail. Lol. It seems that Playstation is everywhere, whether you want it to be or not. I go into Apple stores and they have a Playstation section (huh?). I search Amazon for a multiplatform game coming out, and only the PS5 version comes up. I go into Metacritic to read reviews on a multiplatform game that comes out and the Playstation reviews come up initially. It's VERY evident that Sony is paying out a lot of money for all of these things. But nobody rides for free. No one gets this type of priority just because. But what is clear to me is that the Xbox is the FAR dominant console right now, leaps and bounds over the PS5. Microsoft now has Xbox games on their consoles, mobile, PC, Nintendo and Nvidia streaming. All of that is far more of a higher percentage than just the Playstation. I believe Microsoft is the smarter business company - that's why they are worth trillions and Sony is not. So, let's all celebrate the most dominant video game platform on the planet - The Mighty Xbox! And in regards to this RE4 demo, it should be coming out real soon, as in the next few days. I mean, the game is literally one month away. But don't be surprised if this demo is exclusive to the Playstation. Like I stated earlier, Sony pays out a lot of money for stuff like this.
@northofthewall Was thinking the same exact thing. I'm sure Sony payed for this demo to be exclusive, just like they pay for everything else.
@Romans12 Its because Pure Xbox is part of the Reedpop/Hookshot websites... they likely have writers that share writers and fans. I wouldnt be surprised if some of the Pure Xbox writers could be Sony fans! or even vice versa on Push Square!
Capcom is smart to not play the exclusive card, they know they have a good game and will sacrifice upfront money to maximize sales on as many platforms as possible. It also builds good will to fans.
Would be nice to get a demo, but if the demo doesn’t come to Xbox I’ll still be okay. I’ll be getting the game either way.
I'm still not convinced, but this trailer gave me hope.
I started replaying the wii version last night in prep for this. Cannot wait
