We've not seen much footage of zombie survival game The Day Before just yet, but the development team has finally showcased a new gameplay trailer at CES 2023. Courtesy of Nvidia, the team has shown us a bit more of what to expect from The Day Before ahead of its PC & current-gen console launch.
It's a pretty short clip, but the gameplay tucked in here looks promising so far. We must stress that this is PC footage intended to showcase Nvidia's latest ray tracing tech, but the game is coming to Xbox Series X and S at some stage.
As for when? We're not entirely sure right now. Alongside this gameplay reveal the team has confirmed a March 1st release date for PC, but the console version hasn't been dated at the time of writing.
Back in May 2022, the dev team confirmed a switch over to Unreal Engine 5 development in order to "transition to a more advanced and adapted open worlds engine". Let's hope that move bears fruit when this zombie MMO hits Xbox in the near future!
Are you hyped for this one? Enjoying what the gameplay trailer has served up? Let us know in the comments.

This looks pretty good, definitely keeping an eye on this one.
They still havent announced the January games. I think they'll announce it next week and it'll be the persona games plus a few others that were announced last year. Wonder if they are moving to a once a month model.
It looks good but I’m not expecting it to have ray tracing on Series X, even if it did it would most likely be running at 30fps, I would rather 60fps without RT. I can see me buying this one day but you just know it’s going to be one of those games that needs at least a years worth of patches before it’s in a better state. Also we need more info like how big the open-world is, weapons, how many players can join you, do you need to eat and drink to stay alive (I hope not though).
This does actually look pretty good. Love games like this, The Last of Us 1 an 2 are the greatest games ever made. Days Gone is another that’s fantastic. If this is as good as Days gone it’ll be great. Can’t see it rivalling TLOU.
@MaccaMUFC It will be like Arkham Knights all over again if that happens.
'Xbox Zombie MMO'? Is this first party? If so, which studio? Wasn't aware they had another studio working on a zombie game beyond Undead Labs/SoD3?
@palahniukslaughter It’s not first party. Some independent dev. Don’t know why they worded it the way they did but eh.
What an underwhelming nothingness trailer. Did they just want people to know they were working on something?
@sjbsixpack the first one was ok. Got tired of the repetitive gameplay and never finished it.
I am very excited to play this. Looking forward to a Xbox version release date.
@Hexamex-Tex TLoU can be a slow paced game for some but it’s all about the characters and story. I loved it and I’ve just recently finished part 2 which imo was even better but they are going to be nothing like The Day Before.
@InfamousOrange To be fair they did at least show some gameplay in that trailer but we do need more details.
This is a total hype bomb game. They have put out a few awesome looking trailers, but their are multiple youtube videos debugging this game n it really is not gonna be half of what it is claiming. I doubt it ever comes to xbox.
@MaccaMUFC yea I get it but for me story is always secondary to the gameplay.
That’s a short tech demo not gameplay, people have said to be wary of this title as the company doesn’t have the best reputation, and this game has been hyped endlessly with little to no gameplay shown, no free gameplay has been shown at all.
I can smell a scam from a mile away, and my sense is tingling with this particular "game". It's super suspicious to see a supposed AAA release from a dev that developed half-baked, broken indie games that have been completely abandoned.
Beware, guys, there's something shady about this.
@UndyingInsurgent95 Nvidia Scam ?
@kihaennem The scammers probably sent a short demo to Nvidia to make people believe they are actually going to release a game lol. It's literally the same thing BlueBox "studios" did.
