As we rolled into the new year, IGN kicked off its 'IGN First' preview for January, with the initial month of 2023 focusing on upcoming Xbox Game Pass slasher Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. While the first gameplay demo provided a general look at the game's combat, this latest trailer is all about one weird-looking boss type.
Aoye, as it's known, is a Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty enemy derived from Chinese mythology, described as a
"bull-like being with long hair reminiscent of a straw rain-cape". This beast is showcased in the above trailer, and well, we're not sleeping tonight after seeing that!

Elsewhere, the new gameplay clip introduces a brand-new weapon type used to take down the big beast itself. Spoiler alert - killing this thing takes some doing!
If you fancy a crack at defeating Aoye yourself, you won't have to wait long. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty slashes its way onto Xbox Game Pass on March 3rd, 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.

Definitely one of my most anticipated games of the year. Nioh 1+2 were absolutely superb, reasons to own a PS4 in my view alone.
So if this is as good as those (and less like Strangers of Paradise) it could be an astonishingly good game!
Interesting choice to initially show lots of failures and poor gameplay before showing combos and success. Probably more representative of a real game experience but a little different than the usual way games are presented.
Played the demo and really really enjoyed it and as pip_muzz said if wo long is as good as the nioh games will be in for a treat...on a side note whats with oreo biscuits all over the xbox UK twitter along with 16jan and #unlockplayfulness, is this part of the fun we were promised?
I’m incredibly excited about this. The fact that Microsoft managed to get a Team Ninja game day one on Game Pass is awesome news, and I hope the game procures much success. NiOH 1 and 2 are phenomenal games, and it’s a real shame they will probably never be part of the Xbox ecosystem, so this is definitely a nice get.
