It looks like we're going to see plenty of Team Ninja's Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty this month! The upcoming Game Pass slasher is part of 'IGN First' for the month of January, and the outlet is kicking things off with 10-minutes of fresh gameplay.
The environments here look rather gorgeous, with the game leaning heavily into its Chinese mythology backdrop throughout. The latter section of the video shows some nice variety in this regard too, as the demo goes deep underground to show off some dungeon-like combat arenas.

Speaking of combat, this is looking very Souls-like indeed, with the team themselves labelling Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty as a straight up 'Soulsbourne' game. We can't wait to see how the full game turns out when it hits Xbox Game Pass on March 3rd.

I know I am in the minority here, but I am sick of "Soulsborne" games. I just want to enjoy games without having to want to throw my controller at the screen.
The demo was fine, but if it's like a Souls game (which I've extremely limited experience playing), Idk how it's different from any action game.
@Kaloudz Nope, we're still waiting 😩 Stranded Deep was shadow dropped, no roundup just yet.

Soulsbourne genre is something I dislike so much. I just don't find these games enjoyable. You have to dedicate so much time to these games in order to beat them.
@Kaloudz Not usually but this week could be different if Xbox is a little slow waking from its holiday slumber...
I'm in the same boat as you there, will bring the roundup as soon as it comes!
@TheCrafter1578 Finally someone i can agree with. I just want to play a game at my pace and not be punished for losing or dieing. I dont mind the hard battles and long battles, but i wish they woudl just put an option to story mode so that when you die, you dont lose all your stuff or start over from the beginning or whatever. That makes me not want to play these games at all.
After the behemoth that is Elden Ring this game is going to feel odd. But given their track record I'm excited. And hope this game is for the hardcore gaming audience who appreciate this kind of unforgiving gameplay. There's not much good titles in this genre.
@TheCrafter1578 no, I agree completely. I played Elden Ring for nearly 100 hours because I found out how to over-level my character, which made the game about as difficult as an average game. I don't like these games otherwise and I'm really sick of almost every game being a soulslike. These are the people who made Nioh, one of the most ridiculous my over difficult games I've ever played. I quit after an hour lol
I love soulslike games. I'm playing Tunic now and freaking love it. Looking forward to lies of p. This game not so much, not as drawn personally to the chinese background but hope others enjoy
im not a big fan of souls games but i like to play them and have a challenge from time to time ...im not getting frustrated dying in them as i expect it to be with the package...
but yeah as im working ll day i usually just play some frindly games like pokemon or a something like fallout cyberpunk ....with not much challenge...
if your not having fun with them and dont feel like a king beating bosses ...dont play them but respect others enjoyimg them
@Kaloudz The normal time slot has come and gone :/ I've posted about the new addition anyway!
