Hogwarts Legacy is sure to be one of the biggest Xbox releases next month, and more than two weeks out from launch, the preload has gone live for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S users.
That's right, you can already get Hogwarts Legacy pre-installed and ready to go for the game's current-gen launch on February 10th! The Xbox One version arrives a little later on April 4th, 2023.
Hogwarts Legacy Download Size Xbox Series X|S
Hogwarts Legacy's download size clocks in at around 76GB on Xbox Series X and 50GB on Xbox Series S. This may change by launch if the team implements any pre-release updates, but it should still end up around that size overall.
If you haven't yet pre-ordered Hogwarts Legacy, or you're opting for a physical copy, did you know that you can pre-install the game for Xbox without buying it? Yep, here's how to do just that:
Hogwarts Legacy - How To Preload The Game On Xbox
- Open up the Xbox app on mobile
- Search for Hogwarts Legacy and select the Xbox Series X|S version
- Hit 'download to console'
- Select your linked system of choice and voila, the game will start installing!

Hogwarts Legacy does not exist in a vacuum. There are important discussions being had about the views and opinions held by the creator of the Harry Potter universe – views and opinions which we do not agree with.
Our goal is to create and foster a positive environment for people – all people – to discuss and celebrate video games, not to amplify ignorance or provide a forum for unconstructive arguments. As per our community rules, we do not accept any form of hate speech on our platform.
@Captain_Chao5 I don't believe the full pre-load is available for Xbox One as that version isn't out until April...
@Kaloudz No reviews yet
@FraserG, I have the Collector's Edition of the game on order (the one with the floating wand!). Does this mean that I can pre-load the game using the app, and then the game will be effectively be ready to play (barring any day one patches) once the disc arrives?
I'm wondering if a lot of journalists will refuse to review this game. I mean all you have to do is look at the statement in the pinned comment. I wonder if some sites will step back from it because they can't be objective when playing it.
This game better be bloody good. I've just bought an XSX to play it on! I'm a BAD man LOL
@Fiendish-Beaver That should be the way it works, yeah. I've followed that method for other games and it's been fine.
@Fiendish-Beaver That floating wand looks cool as anything! Enjoy!
Regarding impartial reviews, I expect that there’s going to be many that aren’t. Some sites immediately come to mind!

IGN will 💯 percent will be leading the charge. Give it a 4 and write two pages of there opinion about everything except the actual game
I think this one will be a huge disappointment, primarily because it is the first game of this caliber from this developer.....
Got my preorder locked in and can't wait to play it. Glad to support JK and free speech.
