Okay, look, this writer will openly admit he wasn't the biggest fan of Far Cry 6, finding the series' latest entry a bit tired compared to past Far Cry titles. However, at least Ubisoft delivered on the Far Cry memo there, providing a huge, gorgeous open world to cause all sorts of chaos in. Well, much like other recent Far Cry DLC packs, the Lost Between Worlds add-on doesn't really look like Far Cry at all.
Ahead of the upcoming expansion, which launches today, the team has revealed the first 15 minutes of gameplay via IGN (as you can see above). To be honest, we're not entirely sure what we're looking at here, but it doesn't really spark much personal excitement - for someone who once really enjoyed what Far Cry had to offer.
It's a bit of an empty-looking linear world full of 'shattered realms' and weird zombie-like enemies, and we're not seeing much of a link between this and the main Far Cry 6 game. You could argue Far Cry worked best when it got its open world gameplay loop just right - which it once managed with a standalone DLC in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon!
Anyway, we'll reserve any further judgment until 'Lost Between Worlds' actually launches later today! The expansion will hit Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as a standalone add-on, and as part of the Far Cry 6 GOTY Edition.
What do you think to this first gameplay clip? More optimistic about 'Lost Between Worlds' than us? Let us know!

My problem with this dlc is that it looks way too much like remixing the core experience into linear sections. Which is fine but this is their big expansion and with a title like "lost between worlds" I was expecting more, like revisting classic maps or smashing elements of them together, or even have us visit other ubi franchises.
So when it's the same, it's the same, and that's bad. And when it's different, it's different and that's also bad.
It looked to be very original, breathtaking even from the trailer. But seeing the actual gameplay...
Reminds me more of Fenyx than Farcry. That's not a bad thing, it's the better game. But it amazes me any time Ubi has an idea for something different they make it a DLC instead of a new game. Fenyx was the one rare exception where an AC DLC idea became a whole new IP instead.
My only complaint so far is that this should had been standalone DLC, new protagonist. Connecting it to the FC6 timeline feels out of place, IMO.
@Lup came here to say it, always a vocal majority? that complains about the fc games being samey but when the outrageously odd dlc launches for each respective title another group complains about it being too different. Gamers man
@Cherip-the-Ripper
You can't keep them happy. If it isn't FC3 or ACII you know they're gonna complain.
Far cry 6 was good but not a fan of any of the dlc they released for it. This new dlc seems a bridge to far now😘
