You might have missed it earlier this month, but Police Simulator: Patrol Officers was part of the November 2022 new releases roundup, arriving for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on November 10th.
The game sees you taking the role of a rookie police officer as you enforce everything from traffic rules to the prevention of littering, and then graduating to a more senior role and getting involved with the likes of major accident cases, drug dealing and cases of bodily harm. Police Simulator: Patrol Officers takes place in the open world of Brighton (no, not the place in the UK!). and even features a two-player co-op mode so you can play with a friend.
Here's a bit more information about what you can expect:
"In Police Simulator: Patrol Officers players slip into the role of one of 8 playable characters and start their first shift as a rookie patrol officer in the fictional US East Coast city of Brighton. As they learn the ropes of their law enforcement occupation they will graduate from enforcing simple traffic rules or preventing littering, to investigating minor and major accidents, and searching and arresting wanted suspects in cases of theft, bodily harm, property damage or even drug dealing.
With growing experience, they will not only unlock three different police cars and more complex tasks but also three lively city districts consisting of fifteen diverse neighborhoods. A two-player coop multiplayer mode gives virtual officers the opportunity to serve the public as a team together with a friend, while an open patrol mode offers them unrestricted access to the whole city."
You might be surprised to hear that Police Simulator: Patrol Officers is actually one of the best-selling games in both the UK and the US right now, with the game sitting in fifth place on the "Top Paid Games" UK chart for Xbox, beating the likes of Grand Theft Auto V and Sonic Frontiers at the time of writing. Impressive stuff!
As for the reviews? Well... they're difficult to judge. There are a couple of reviews on Metacritic for Xbox Series X with extremely low scores, although the PS5 and PC versions have some pretty high scores. The game has a "Very Positive" rating on Steam based on almost 8000 reviews, and a 4.1/5 rating on the Xbox Store based on almost 100 reviews. It seems the main complaint with the Xbox version is that it's very buggy at launch and needs a few patches, but otherwise people seem to be having fun.

They dropped a patch yesterday that seems to have fixed a few problems I was having , really enjoying the game, 2 more achivements then it's done ,simulators really seem to be the in thing just lately
I have to contain myself to not make jokes about the state of the police in the U.S. and what should be present in a realistic police simulator game.
@jolteon23 yeh in this game you get the day reset for shooting ppl for no reason
And In my defense I thought his mobile phone was a weapon ....oopss
Is it a by the book approach or can you be a bit of a loose cannon? I'm more the shoot first type.
Edit: you were answering that while I was still typing 😃
@Kharjo everything is by the book ,u get points taken off for doing stuff like not having a reason to frisk
Lawks! Fingers crossed there's a decent doughnut selection at least!
Looking forward to brutalising and murdering civilians, then retiring before they take away my pension!

This sounds about right for Xbox.
Was tempted to buy this, kinda the original Grand Theft Auto. GTA was originally gonna be called Race n Chase, you played as a police officer chasing bad guys. The office cleaner made an off the cuff remark, it’d be more fun to play as the bad guy!! Hence GTA was born!!
Looks like the type er game that’ll hit Game Pass or PS+ in a couple of month.
Removed - unconstructive
Never played this game but I'll try it out. Much respect given to the good Law Enforcement Officers out there (most are good believe it or not).
