Early last month, Logitech revealed that it was working with Xbox, in some capacity, on a cloud-based gaming handheld. Well, the tech company has now fully revealed its Logitech G CLOUD system, and it's out as early as next month.
The handheld device launches on October 17th in the US for $350, with no other regions revealed just yet. The G CLOUD will run on the Android mobile platform, however, the likes of Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now are baked right into the device; this thing is targeting the big cloud platforms as its name suggests.
That might mean the system is somewhat equal to a mobile phone with a controller connected, however, both Logitech and Xbox clearly see dedicated handheld devices as an important step in the future of cloud gaming.
Handhelds are a natural next step in our cloud gaming evolution, and it’s great to see a world-class hardware leader like Logitech optimize Xbox Cloud Gaming for their new device. You can jump right in with ease, anywhere you are, and take advantage of the 16:9 full-screen display. With extended battery life, built-in Wi-Fi, and ergonomic controls, the Logitech G CLOUD will allow you to progress through campaigns or get online for a multiplayer session where it’s most convenient to you.
On the Xbox side of things, Microsoft says that Xbox Cloud Gaming is "pinned" right to the home screen, and given you have a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you'll be able to access "hundreds of high-quality titles" on the go.
One nice bonus for Xbox users is the addition of Remote Play baked right in as well. With this feature, you can stream your full Xbox library right to the device, paired up with your local Xbox console. We happen to love using this feature on the regular with other mobile devices, so its inclusion here is very welcome!
What do you think to the Logitech G CLOUD? Worth a look? Let us know in the comments below.

That price is absurd, $350 for a streaming only device, you can pay an extra $50 and get the steam deck and play games natively as well.
This isn't going to sell well.
But, I do like the design and idea behind it, so I would like to get one at some point, when it's $200 or less
Also no mention of the screen resolution? If xbox are fully supporting this they need to allow for 1080p streaming, thats if this device even has a 1080p screen.
@UltimateOtaku91 it's not a streaming only device, it's basically an android console like the ones currently coming from china.
It has good specs for emulation
The steam deck is a behemoth side-by-side with this thing. And it's not really the same market imo
I won't be getting this, but for people planning on importing one of those chinese android consoles it might be a nice alternative, probably much better build quality
So lame, especially for this price.
Use you’re phone..
Definitely grabbing myself a GameSir X2 Pro - or keeping my eyes peeled on other new offerings, might as well make the most of my phone!
Can't see people using this over their phone - why take two screens when your travelling?
I was interested when I first saw this mooted, but not at that price.
I get that it is as reasonably specced Android gaming device that can also play mobile games, but as a cloud streaming device $300 is madness when you can get a Steam Deck for $399 that does this and so much more.
This leaves them in an awkward position between devices like the Retroid Pocket 3 that at around $120 gives you a great streaming and emulation capabilities, and the Steam Deck at $399.
Perhaps the Logitech name and quality will elevate this to something more special, but as it stands on specs alone it is vastly overpriced compared to the rest of the market.
Cool device. Way too expensive for what is essentially a streaming device.
I'm split on Cloud Gaming. I had a Steam Deck which I never used so swapped for a PS5 (which I probably use even less than the Deck).
I've got a Backbone which is pretty cool for cloud streaming but a sub £200/$200 device that is streaming only would appeal - I was hoping this would be it but not at that price.
this, as well as mobile phones (and numerous accessories you can buy for Mobiles), Steam Deck and whatever 'other' Android/iOS portable devices are the big reason why I don't think MS will waste 'billions' on Research, development and release of their own 'Portable' Xbox. They are 'not' competing with 'Switch' as that has its own USP - their games - and as they 'developed' for Switch specifically, they are built for that level of hardware.
With Xbox, they already have to make 3 'versions' - 1 for PC that players have to 'optimise' for their hardware, 1 for Series X and 1 for Series S - each console having its own 'optimised' settings (maybe multiple optimised settings for different modes (30fps/60fps, Graphics/Performance...). If they add a 'Portable' system with its own 'local' play capability, then some games may not 'run' at all locally and the ONLY way to play would be via streaming on Game Pass - like the XB1 S/X console. No way could you get MSFS on a 'portable' console to run locally - and, if you are streaming from 'virtual Series X' hardware, you already have an optimised version that will run perfectly well and 'stream' that quality to a Portable device - won't get a repeat of Switch and its 'ports' of Ark, Witcher 3, Doom, Wolfenstein etc that look and run 'poorly' (compared even to XB1S). Not saying they are terrible on Switch, its amazing they are 'playable' at all - but have had to scale things back a LOT.
It would most likely be 'detrimental' to MS to consider making their own 'Handheld' Xbox Console and to offer 'local' play - because that level of Hardware would need to be 'factored' in when making games. People want 'last' gen systems to be dropped to free up developers from the constraints of 'weak' hardware and MS has a 'solution' - streaming from much better hardware....
@trukme I’ve just got mine it’s awesome
Like others said before the price is too high, at max 200 CA$ I would consider this streaming device but 350 US$ no way .A Samsung galaxy tab a7 is 209 CA$ on Amazon if you do want to play on your phone.
I’d be happy with a proper “Series M”. I’ve used XCloud a lot recently as I’m travelling but as great as Game Pass’ selection is I’d love to play my purchased games. Also some online games like Halo Infinite multiplayer have been just terrible over XCloud versus a Series S or X.
I get it, but $350...that ain't it chief. Same thing with the Atari that came out. Just way to overpriced. Especially when you can emulate all those games. Getting off track...STEAMDECK
I had been following this thing since it first leaked, I was interested in a lightweight device that I could stream to either directly or through the cloud. I currently use that Tablet MS teamed up with a controller mount for the X1. It's showing its age and I have to stream via a browser, not the app. This was shaping up to be the perfect replacement.
but man that price. I should be considering other tablets vs this thing, not a Switch or Steam deck.
Maybe I'll grab one next year when logictec just wants rid of the remaining stock.
Game Pass is at the moment, purely streaming so that does limit the amount of games available at any one time. However, as stated, this device can be used to also play games 'remotely' from your Xbox console enabling you to play games you have 'purchased' too.
Long Term, MS will want to 'sell' you games too and that includes to ALL those gamers who may access Gaming through Streaming Only. They will find a way to make sure your 'digital' purchases, as that will give you a license to play locked to your account, will be playable via streaming at some point to enable them to 'sell' games and/or additional content to those who 'stream'. They aren't going to buy something they can't access if it goes from Game Pass.
They have talked about this but the closest we have right now is 'remote' play. I'm sure this will also play the 'usual' Android game apps as well as offer 'streaming' options from nVidia as well as Microsoft and probably Sony when they offer a 'streaming' service too to expand beyond 'just' their console...
Just buy steamdeck and play microsoft (and sony) games there, there's your xbox (and playstation) portable. Man I hope valve can sells steamdeck in more asian country.
So this is needed instead of my phone? Lol. Literally the most pointless handheld ever released. I have a spare iPhone so will stick to that.
Price is mental!
This is definitely a flop lol
@Carck the thing uses a Snapdragon 720G & has 4gb of ram my phone has a better chip & double the ram & it's quite old & cheap now lol
DOA with that price, should be 150 less, it's a nice thing to look at, would definitely interested but not at 350 (or even 300), it's a full hd screen but ips, not oled either.
They are making a big mistake at marketing this as a streaming device. The device seems to have some decent specs, and have full android, but they don’t talk about it. They just market it as a GamePass/stadia/Luna client, and that will be seen as too expensive of a price for just that functionality.
Again, it’s not the only functionality but it’s what they are marketing.
I kinda like the idea of the device, I would kinda like something like this to take around the house, sometimes play games from my deck, but wish it simply had lesser specs so it could have lower price, I personally don’t think I would ever use it to play android games not as an emulation device.
If it ran windows instead of android, and I realize that would be harder and likely more expensive, I would be more interested, as I would be able to play Steam games on it too.
I might try to keep my eyes open for a potential liquidation sale, as it stands, but who knows. This might sell well enough among the emulation crowd.
@Ocat But WHO was phone?
I think its seems like a good device I dont mind streaming games on xbox the problem is price if it was $200 it would be priced right
I honestly love this device, and very much want one. The price, right now is kind of absurd. That said, I bought a Kishi 2 ($100) and a used Galaxy Note (2019) for "cheap" ($200) to do this exact task, so nearly the same price, but with a smaller (but better) screen, less optimized Wifi and truly miserable battery life/self-draining battery at idle (we're talking launch 3DS level battery life but it drains it self like 40% across a day if unused.) If I'd waited a few months I could have had this for $50 more which does the job better.
I tried using my normal phone but the battery drain wasn't acceptable, and none of the clamps accept even the thinnest of cases on it. If they ever discount this heavily, I'll buy two.
Steamdeck isn't really an alternative since the streaming and especially remote play don't seem like they're quite prime time ready. I looked into Steamdeck before jumping in with the Kishi+phone.
I would be very interested in this device if it was cheaper, $350 seems too much for this.
You can do the same with a Retroid Pocket for under half the price
