It looks like yet another game is currently being tested by Xbox Insiders ahead of a planned PC Game Pass release in the near future! This time around it's 2001's Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
"Xbox Insiders on Windows PC are invited to preview Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Originally released in 2001, Return to Castle Wolfenstein takes place where World War II rages and nations fall. SS head Himmler has Hitler’s full backing to twist science and the occult into an army capable of annihilating the Allies once and for all. Battling alone, you’re on an intense mission to pierce the black heart of the Third Reich and stop Himmler — or die trying."
Return to Castle Wolfenstein joins Wolfenstein 3D as the two games from that franchise that have been tested by Xbox Insiders recently, while games from Quake, Elder Scrolls and other series' have been in the loop as well.
The majority of these previews are now finally coming to an end, so hopefully we'll get some news in the near future about when we can expect to (hopefully) see them on PC Game Pass for all subscribers.
Here's how you can access the Return to Castle Wolfenstein preview:
- Sign in on Windows PC and launch the Xbox Insider Hub (or grab it from the Store if you don't have the app)
- Navigate to Previews, then Return to Castle Wolfenstein
- Select Join
- Wait for the registration attempt to process and you'll be able to install the preview

Bring Enemy Territory and I’ll be interested. The only online multiplayer game I’ve put a lot of time into.
@EliSweetG FINALLY!!!! Someone i agree with. I mean there is always a place for old games. But we want new games. Not remasters, not remakes, but brand new games!!!
I'd really like to see some of these older Bethesda / id games, and soon Activision-Blizzard games, that never had a console release ported to Xbox consoles. But this is still good.
I hope the Activision/Blizzard back catalog makes it to pc gamepass as well. I've been having a blast with some of the classics like fallout, age of empires, quake, and doom.
If they ever add more games to the BC program, I hope they do Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Wolfenstein 2009.
RTCW is great, but also extremely difficult. Definitely save scummed my way through it
