Multiple job listings have surfaced over the weekend, relating to a new game in the works at Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment. There are a whole load of positions available within the team, but a selection of them relate to a new "single-player adventure" currently named 'Apex Universe FPS Incubation'.
Of course, that won't be the actual name of the game, but basically, the team has begun work on a new FPS within the Apex Legends universe, a universe that was initially born from Titanfall's world back in 2019. So, Titanfall 3 then?
Well, we're not sure just yet. Again, the team is directly referring to Apex here rather than Titanfall. However, given that they're both technically the same universe, this one could go either way.
There are some other job posts live that provide a few other hints as well. One engineering job asks for "console programming experience on a multiplayer AAA game" that's also labelled as this so-called Apex Incubation title, so we could see both single-player and multiplayer incorporated here, much like 2016's Titanfall 2.
For now, we'll have to wait and see how this one takes shape. Remember, the team is consistently updating Apex Legends to this day, along with being heads down on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a sequel to 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. They're certainly busy over there at Respawn!
Do you want this to become Titanfall 3? Or would you prefer a stronger link to Apex Legends? Let us know!

Really hope it’s Titanfall 3. The campaign on the second one was one of my all time favorite FPS campaigns.
Titanfall 2 is like one of the greatest FPS games ever made.
I hope it takes cues from Titanfall’s narrative but I’ve grown to love the characters of Apex Legends far more than Titanfall’s characters.
There’s a lot of potential here. With so many legends thought I doubt them all get fair representation (sorry, non-Mirage mains!). They might go with creating a new legend or character rather than reuse existing legends in the gameplay.
If they are working on TF3, I hope they learn from what they did with TF2. It was an 'interesting' game but EVERY mission copied the same format over and over again.
In every level, you are separated from BT and have to do platforming and Combat to eventually meet back up with BT to battle a 'boss' to finish that level. Then you start the next mission, get separated from BT to do some Platforming/combat sections before getting back to BT to tackle the next 'boss'... Repeat 8 or 9 times and you have beaten the game...
The 'one' standout mission for me though was the one where you have the ability to jump back and forward through time - something you have to do to complete the Platforming stage and some combat sequences - but that was the most unique and original mission. With SSD's and much faster data transfer/loading, this could really be expanded on.
Overall, I liked TF2 (completed it twice on hardest difficulty with all but the 'run the Gauntlet' time challenge achievements/trophies on both Xbox and PS). Yes it was probably the best FPS released that year and deserved better.
the easiest, most sensible, most requested, most obvious solution would be to do Titanfall 3.
So you KNOW that's not what they're doing.
Titanfall 2 was such an amazing campaign!!! Please let it be Titanfall 3
I want Titanfall 3 SO BADLY!! I need more time with BT!
EA must be disgusted to hear its single player
@Tsushima Maybe. But there nothing EA can do... Respawn is their star child at the moment, and basically have the ability to do whatever they want.
