Electronic Arts might not be hosting its 'EA Play Live' event this year, but apparently, it's got some surprises up its sleeve.
According to the company's official Twitter account, you won't want to miss out on these surprises. It's not specified when exactly they'll be revealed. Here's the tweet in full:
"We have some surprises that you won’t want to miss out on, Stay tuned"
Although EA isn't hosting a livestream event this week, it's still one of the many game publishers partnered with the Summer Game Fest. This event's opening ceremony will take place tomorrow on 9th of June. There's also the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase this week.
EA has a number of games currently in development - ranging from Skate 4, and Dead Space to the new Need for Speed.

Let me guess, another battlefield already? The not FIFA FIFA?
BF2042 joining EA Play
Fight Night fingers crossed
EA love their surprise .... Mechanics
How much micro transactions they can add in their games. 😂😂😂
They'll fix Titanfall 😆
Titanfall 3, please 🤤
BF2044, 2043, 2042 (or whatever the total player count is atm ) to EA play seems like a no-brainer, sounds logical to get some more players into that game.
@Beagle DS and RR would be great, even a widescreen remaster of the 3DO RR would go down well with me.
There's a lot of hate for EA going on, but, they seem to have gone back to being the cool EA of the past and have actual cool games in development again. For now, until some telecom buys them out. For the first time in like 15 years I'm excited for EA updates.
@NEStalgia Those are still the minority. They are still pushing loot boxes across all their sports titles which is the vast majority of their revenue.
Thankfully there may be some end in sight. Last week consumer groups from 18 European countries announced they are lobbying together to get authorities to regulate loot boxes after a report from the influential Norwegian Consumer Council and other countries like the UK seem to be taking their own routes.
Read more at VGC or view the full report by the NCC.
I truly think THIS is one of the reasons EA is so keen on a sale/merger. I believe they think their days of loot box pushing are numbered in many territories and need to sell or diversify BEFORE their stock crashes.
@themightyant Yeah, I tune out EA sports because it's EA sports I know that's their main revenue, but.... I'm focusing on the studios that used to be good actually doing a return to things that sound like they might be good. I admit though that even as a non-sports fan, their upcoming PGA game and the new Madden game actually look inspired.
That's a good point on loot boxes. I thought they already moved on from the mystery loot box into more fixed mtx like the rest of the industry.
Well it won’t be announcing a break in content creation to focus on general stability for Apex Legends. That’s for sure.
