One of the many highlights during the Xbox Bethesda Showcase was Diablo 4 spotlight - confirming the Necromancer class for the game and also new details about the gameplay and world.
As promising as it looks, there have admittedly been some concerns raised about this fourth entry taking certain ideas from the recently released mobile (and PC) title, Diablo Immortal.
If you are concerned about monetisation aspects, Blizzard's global community lead for Diablo, Adam Fletcher, has now clarified what exactly to expect in a response to a fan on social media.
In brief, it'll be a full price game for PC and console audiences, with "optional" paid cosmetics and expansions:
"D4 is coming out as a full price game built strictly for PC/console audiences. The game is huge & there will be tons of content after launch for all players. Paid content is built around optional cosmetic items & eventually full expansions. We will be sharing more info soon!"
Diablo 4 will launch on multiple platforms including Xbox Series X|S in 2023. You can also pre-register for future betas.

Why is this game NOT on gamepass?
@Ashadelo it will be as soon as the deal goes through it's not official yet. Once it is done I am sure it will be.
I’ve never played a Diablo game before, but this announcement had me hyped. The game looked so cool. I can’t wait to give it a try!
@BlackMayge I'm a little worried about the world bosses I don't want to be competing with bots. I do have a three man team that we play Diablo 2 and 3 with we are all pretty excited. I wish the crusader was in at start. Right now you can pick up Diablo 2 and three in a bundle it is pretty cheap.
@Ashadelo not out yet, purchase of activision blizzard is not complete?
Secret level caps all over again.
Here's hoping it gets local co-op on consoles.
yeah right get ready for predatory microshat ...
Full price until Phil picks up the keys to the building.
I am not a fan of the shared world. I preferred the 100% single-player game experience. A shared world means having to interact with toxic, rude, and unreliable people. I have avoided that since Halo 2 was released.
@KonstantTrouble shared worlds are a mixed bag, i have met a good number of good people in them BUT i have met more Dbags and ***** then good people...mostly kids(im old been gaming since my odyssey days)
Truly hope this will be on Game Pass. I find Diablo worth the money, but it can definitely help to find other players to play alongside with online.
No way I'm buying this game, Blizzard isn't what they used to be. I'll probably play it for free on GamePass though.
