Last week, Xbox finally got around to announcing its big summer showcase for 2022. Even so, they didn't really reveal much of what they'll show off - aside from the fact that Bethesda will have a huge presence once again. However, as expected the rumours are starting to swirl, and this one is getting us pretty excited!
Rand Al Thor, who forms The Xbox Two podcast with Jez Corden, featured on another podcast recently to talk all things Xbox. The host discussed Xbox's upcoming showcase, and how he's heard that almost all Xbox teams have submitted stuff to be shown next month.
"I did hear, through the grapevine not that long ago, almost virtually every studio has submitted something for the show.
Almost all of them submitted something for the show and some studios submitted multiple things. That's where things get cut though."
As we know, Xbox now has a pretty sizable first party portfolio, so the idea of nearly all of them having things to show, is exciting. However, we have to stress that this is all rumour at this point and aside from Bethesda's involvement, we know very little about the showcase. Still, here's the timestamp:
Thankfully, we won't have to wait too long to find out for real. The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase takes place June 12th, 2022 at 10am PT / 1pm EST / 6pm BST. It's safe to say we're pretty excited about this one here at Pure Xbox HQ.
What do you make of this rumour? Will Xbox be able to cram everything into this show? Let us know below!

Hype levels limit exceeded! Still over a month before the show. Hope I don't blow a gasket before then with all this hype.
If almost doesn't include fable I won't b happy
Sounds great but I hope it isn't just mainly CGI trailers. I want to see gameplay and release dates.
It feels believable given how some would be upcoming games and others would be upcoming content for existing games. For example with Playground Games, I really doubt we'd see anything on Fable but it's extremely likely that we see the first expansion for Forza Horizon 5. Similarly with Obsidian, the most likely thing to appear is Grounded leaving early access.
@CrazyJF most have other projects that will possibly(likely in some cases) be seen. The Coalition have another smaller project, Obsidian have Grounded, Avowed and Pentiment, Playground will show FH5 DLC.
"Almost every" so probably nothing from The Initiative, Playground Games and Undead Labs
I hope Final Fantasy 7 Remake is announced for Xbox.
Show me real gameplay AAA games and release dates then we smile and look forward to.
So looking forward to showcase in June.
Recent poll from another website really shows how much pressure is on Starfield top of the list.
And was a little surprised how at the very bottom
Redfall, state of decay 3 and Contraband were, probably better off getting them studios making different games.
Other games like fable etc had good votes as well.
I'll wait for the show to get really hyped but I hope this is good news.
@Chaudy
Playgrounds probably gonna announce the first expansion for Horizon 5 at the event, tho I doubt we'll see Fable until next year.
You're not helping me keep my expectations in check
Should be a good one though, hyped.
Well one thing is for sure. Perfect Dark won't be there 🤣
I don't expect Double Fine, Tango and Arkane Lyon (unless they are making some DLC for Psychonauts 2, Ghostwire:Tokyo and Deathloop) to have something to reveal - if any, Arkane Lyon may have some news with its expected release in Sept 22 to Xbox Consoles. 343i too may have 'something' (Forge mode Beta live after show?) and Mojang may have some Minecraft based update.
We know what Rare (Everwild, SoT content), Undead Labs (SoD3), Obsidian (Grounded, Avowed, OW2), Turn 10 (FM), Playground (Fable, FH5 DLC & FH6 but too early for that), MachineGames (Indiana Jones) Arkane Austin (Redfall), Bethesda (Starfield, ES6, ESO), Ninja Theory (Hellblade 2, Project Mara), The Initiative (Perfect Dark) and maybe get updates about MSFS (Top Gun DLC) and AoE4.
However, we don't officially know what the Coalition (new IP, Gears remasters, Gears 6), Compulsion, inXile, id Software (Quake? Doom?) or Roundhouse Studios are developing. That's all the current First Party Studio's - at least at the time of writing. Who knows if they have added any others. After all, we didn't hear about Ninja Theory, Playground, Undead Labs and Compulsion until E3 2018 and then announced both inXile and Obsidian in Nov that year so maybe a 'surprise or two' here - Certain Affinity perhaps (making a MH-style game exclusively for Xbox and helped with H:I)...
Anyway, there is a LOT they could show - especially as a lot of the games revealed have only had CGi trailers and could be ready to tease Game-play. I don't expect all those games we know to be shown off (other than in some quick montage) as they also have ID@Xbox (eg Scorn), Xbox Publishing (eg contraband), Xbox Cloud Publishing (newly announced for Native Cloud based games - like the heavily rumoured Kojima project was) and of course any 3rd Party multi-platform releases (timed or otherwise) partnered with Xbox - some of which will be on Game Pass (Plague Tale: Requiem for example) as well as those that are only marketing deals (like AC: Valhalla was).
More than enough games to fill a 2hr show - especially as they'll need to spend some time on actual Game-play and info drop on Starfield and Redfall at least - can't just show a minute or two of Game-play and move on to the 'next' game...
I'm not worried about what MS has to show and expect a number of games to not be there in any 'meaningful' capacity just because of Time and sheer quantity of projects in development...
I'm eagerly awaiting details on replaced and midnight fight express.
@Snake_V5 I personally hope they finish the game before porting it. I think all there is now is the first part and a remake of the first part. There still two more parts to make...
it will be the best xbox showcase
Tango really need to give us Evil Within 3
Looking forward to this event. They’ve been busy with these games for awhile now. It’s overdue to start showing some of them off.
Stop, I can only get so erect.
Looking forward to this, however need more than fancy footage at this point. This generation is 18 months in, solid release dates are now required..
I would love to see some of the Perfect Dark reboot in action. Some more of Everwild would also be great.
My dream is for Banjo Threeie however!
