Want the good news or the bad news? The good news is that Two Point Campus, the follow up to Two Point Hospital, is still launching on Xbox Game Pass on day one. The bad news is that it's no longer arriving in May as planned.
In a message to fans, the development team explained that it "just wouldn't be fair on you or ourselves to release a game that isn't quite ready yet," as they're busy trying to optimise the game for all the different platforms right now:
"As you know, one of our biggest goals with Two Point Campus is to launch on PC and console platforms from day one, and we want to make sure that every single one of you gets the best quality game no matter what you're playing on.
So in order for everyone to have the incredible experience we all want you to have, we need a little more time to continue our optimisation efforts for all platforms. Now don't get us wrong... we're nearly there! So the extra three months we have is going to really help us get Two Point Campus to the quality you've all come to expect from us as a studio."
As a result, Two Point Campus's release date on Xbox Game Pass has shifted from May 17th to 9th August, pushing it into the summer. Accompanying today's news was a new Developer Vision trailer which you can watch above.
We'll get there eventually, then, but the wait for Two Point Campus goes on for a few more months yet...

That’s a shame. This is the problem with MS management issues still…all games are at the later half of the year (if not delayed) when they need a steady stream of one release per month ideally for a subscription service to thrive. Hopefully they’ll announce a big third party game coming to gamepass in its place.
On the bright side things like this go against the narrative that subscription day 1 releases = rushed out unfinished games.
@Bleachedsmiles never mind the fact they're owned by SEGA, and it's a small indy studio making a throwback game. The idea this is about MS management issues or they need to announce some big replacement is ridiculous.
Disappointing but I'd rather they delayed it for a better finished product at the end
Oh, I was waiting for it. But, take your time, guys and gals.
@theskelf ah yep meant that to say it was not it's. Point still stands.
@CunningPig kinda missed the point though didn’t you Cunning…
@Bleachedsmiles You had no point, just FUD.
This isn't on MS to make other studio's games come out on time and the delay of a little game like this is a blip on the game pass radar. Your fake concern about this game delay indicating larger issues with MS management is garbage.
They add a steady stream of games every month, big and small. We don't even know what games are coming in the 2nd half of April, let alone any games for May, so it's ridiculous to act like this left a hole in the lineup that needs to be filled by some big game.
Your FUD is transparent.
@CunningPig Ok… first, I’m well aware that this game isn’t an Xbox studio or owned by Microsoft, thanks.
Microsoft’s aim is to have one heavy hitter per month (like most subscription services). They’ve already seen stalker 2 get pushed back this year, now this. So they need to ensure, rather than relying on third party (which they have no control over) that they have something to deliver each month. Why do you think they’re buying all these studios and publishing houses?… that’s not a clue that the end goal is to have a steady stream of releases? They’ve already stated as much. But that’s going to come down to good management - which they’re currently lacking.
I also said I hope they have another big third party game to take it’s place…as we know they don’t have a first.
Like you said, we don’t know what’s coming rest of April…or may now. So maybe they need I be a bit more transparent with what’s on the way?
Either way, calm down dear.
That's fair enough. Miyamoto quote about bad games and all that. Usually it might be a bit of a red flag but they delivered with Two Point Hospital so I'm confident they'll get the job done.
