343 Industries has published a new Halo Infinite 'Season 1 Outcomes Report' - highlighting all the feedback and steps taken to address fan concerns.
While most of this blog update is focused on Season 1, the team has also shared another breakdown of what to expect from Season 2. Here's the TL;DR version of some of the things players can expect from S2 when it launches on 3rd May:
Season 2
AUDIO
- The ability to hear an opponent’s shield recharge sound will be reduced to prevent providing too much information about a player’s location
- The volume of the Grunt Birthday Party sound effect will be increased in Campaign
MULTIPLAYER
Arena
- Catalyst (new Arena map) will be added to multiple playlists on day one
- King of the Hill will be added to multiple playlists
- Attrition will be added to multiple playlists
- In Attrition, a revived player will be able to move immediately after spawning back in
- Motion Tracker (Radar) will have its outer edge detection enabled for shooting and sprinting in social playlists
Big Team Battle
- Breaker (new BTB map) will be added to matchmaking on day one
- Jeff Steitzer’s voice is returning to call out player-earned medals
- Issue causing asymmetrical Weapon Rack spawns has been addressed
Matchmaking
- Rather than track a player’s entire session, the CSR progression bar will now reflect the progress made from their most recent match
Custom Games & Forge
- Addressing some Custom Game bugs, with more coming down the road
Personal AI & Spartan Chatter
- Balance adjustments were made to emphasize what’s most important for players
PC
- Noticeable stability improvements; the team has resolved dozens of PC crashes
SANDBOX
Networking
- Melee fights should be more consistent, with opponents “phasing” through each other less and “whiffing” less when a melee should’ve connected
Weapons
- A global melee damage decrease of 10% on all weapons will require the Mangler to land two shots and a beatdown for a kill.
- The Ravager’s base (non-charged) shot will see a damage increase
Friend or Foe (IFF) Recognition (Player Outlines)
- This system will now have options allowing players to modify the opacity and thickness based on their preferences
Equipment
- Drop Wall will see slight performance increases
- Overshield will provide slightly more shielding
Vehicles
- Chopper collision (splatter) damage will be increased to its vehicle-splattering glory
- Banshee’s agility and damage output will be increased to improve its role as a strike fighter
- Warthog & Razorback should be more resistant to flipping and bouncing
343 will also run another Outcomes blog in the lead up to this season, focusing on areas such as customisation, shop, battle pass, progression, events, theatre and the observer mode.
You can get a more thorough breakdown of everything related to Season 1 and 2 of Halo Infinite over on the Halo Waypoint website.

@Xiovanni they haven't mentioned the crossplay issue once even though alot of people have been asking for it they must not want to make it optional pc's lobby's would likely be dead without console players filling them
Based on conversations I hear between friends and here this doesn’t sound like it’s going to satisfy players for very long. And after the delay I think players expected more. Hopefully the discourse picks up. It’s a good game at its core.
When is co op campaign coming?
"Issue causing asymmetrical Weapon Rack spawns has been addressed"
Well there's another good example of a lie from 343. They previously said that it was working as intended to mix games up.
@Xiovanni unfortunately, that is what many cheat engines use. to trigger an on/off effect. its basic and fools many systems. its dumb yet necessary. cheat makers like to exploit QoL things endlessly.
also completely for having the choice of playing against pc m/kb in game. playing the game on pc against all of that got tiring real quick. basically quit shooters on pc, that atmosphere is tiring an the toxic nonsense flies everywhere.
being forced to play SWAT in crossplay is also ridiculous.
Sounds good for the most part! My only issue is I do hope we will get more than one map for both small and big team battle modes throughout Season 2. I'd even be fine with them recycling in some older classic maps to save a little time.
Other than that looking forward to next month!
@lolwhatno and @Xiovanni
Gender is the social construct, and Sex is biological. But aside from that, I'm kind of with Xiovanni. I wish there were more secondary physical characteristics besides just waist size when we choose body type. I love the gameplay from Halo infinite, but I never felt like my spartan was an in-game personalized version of myself. But Halo 5, despite having a bunch of haters, felt way more personal with the customization.
Also, there's this really annoying glitch where sometimes we spawn with default body and voice. And then the rest of the match I'm stuck hearing weird manly death grunts (I die a lot). lol
I miss Halo 5 bodies.
@BartoxTharglod They still haven't fixed desync, or bugs causing the scoreboard to disappear, or spawning in game with your camera stuck to the spawn camera, instead of your character all game.
As usual they're missing the point. The main issues with Infinite are the bugs and matchmaking issues. Throw out all content all you want.
As long as I keep he tting tossed in 150ms and 200ms, Infinite is dead to me.
When are we getting BR?
But seriously, I’d actually go back to try that.
343 needs to correct the way they designed local multiplayer splitscreen. Requiring separate user accounts to do so instantly makes Halo Infinite useless for anyone with friends/family who don't own an XBox.
And we all know why 343 DELIBERATELY made it this way: GREED, just like prioritizing Fortnite wannabe skins over basic features that should have been in the game in the first place. They deserve for Microsoft to take Halo away from them and hand the franchise to another development team at this point.
@AtlanteanMan you do realise that the decisions about monetization will have come from Microsoft right
@JH64 I wish they would make it a priority. Halo is best when playing with a friend.
@Would_you_kindly Of course, so it's also on Microsoft for the problems Halo Infinite has had. It's all about priorities, and they got burned because they chose the WRONG ones.
When will we be getting the rainbow pride Spartan? 343 should make that their utmost priority.
