Paramount Plus is now a week out from the launch of its new Halo live-action series. Ahead of this new series launch, it's now released a second official trailer.
There's a little bit more focus on the 'silver team' this time around, including some epic scenes of Master Chief. Here's a rundown, courtesy of an official description:
Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future. Nobody can save humanity alone-not even the Master Chief. Meet the heroes who will risk losing everything to come together and protect humankind from the universe's greatest threat in this stunning new trailer for the Paramount+ Original Series, Halo. Stream the premiere of Halo on Thursday, Mar. 24, exclusively on Paramount+.
In its adaptation for Paramount+, HALO will take place in the universe that first came to be in 2001 with the launch of Xbox®’s first “Halo” game. Dramatizing an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, HALO the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.
The series stars Pablo Schreiber (the Master Chief, Spartan John-117), Natascha McElhone (Dr. Halsey), Jen Taylor (Cortana), Bokeem Woodbine (Soren-066), Shabana Azmi (Admiral Margaret Parangosky), Natasha Culzac (Riz-028), Olive Gray (Miranda Keyes), Yerin Ha (Kwan Ha Boo), Bentley Kalu (Vannak-134), Kate Kennedy (Kai-125), Charlie Murphy (Makee) and Danny Sapani (Captain Jacob Keyes).

This just looks so great, but I'm so worried it will flop. Now I don't mind changes in story, I've come to expect those with every adaptation, I just really need this to not suck
@Vepra thank you for being a rational person. My coworker was going on and on about all the things they “got wrong.” Personally, I don’t need or want a 1:1 recreation, as long as a lot of the main concepts are there and it’s good I’m happy. We have the game and it’s story, we don’t need this show to be that but in video format, if they were just going to follow it in the same way I’d rather just play the game.
I'm pretty excited to give it a shot! Trailers have looked good so I have some decently high hopes for this show.
The reviews are floating in 6 or 7 out of 10 range. And there some contradictory bits, IGN review mentions problems in CGI and floaty looking spartans, then other reviews mentioned great CGI. There is some disparity and I get that while they seem to have a decent budget, they don't have MCU budget.
I will probably still enjoy this a lot as a mid-level show and I am excited to see it.
Anyone know what service this is coming to in UK or Ireland? Or will I have to sail the high seas to watch this?
@blockfight In Germany (where i am) and France you can watch it on Sky. But for UK and Ireland you guys are supposed to wait till summer when P+ launches in those regions! Therefore either VPN or you might consider joining a crew of privateers )
@BrilliantBill Thanks for the info. Great, another streaming service to subscribe to. Just what the world needed.
@blockfight You're welcome. At this point, one has to just micromanage and subscribe and unsubscribe all the time with these streaming services.
@BrilliantBill I'm lucky in that I only pay for Netflix. I have access to Disney+ and Amazon for free through certain tricks. So it's not so bad. I'll see if I can get P+ for free somehow too.
Some of that CGI is hilariously bad. As in Forward Unto Dawn, that was released with Halo 4, bad.
Gonna be a pass from me. Would have been interested if the show was actually canon though. There's too much much going on already in Halo to bother with something that isn't.
To add to all that, the less than stellar reviews up to this point, and with how bad Infinite is doing, looks like one of my favorite game series won't be around too much longer
The human controlling the flood reminds me of Queen Myrrah who controls the Locust from Gears of War. I am worried about that plot point but hopefully they do it right
Looks pretty good to me shame they didn't use the actual voice actor for master chief though
