We've got a bunch of eagerly anticipated games heading to Xbox in March, including the isometric action game TUNIC starring a small fox on a big adventure, but despite what you might think, it's not coming to Game Pass at launch.
Lots of people have been asking developer FINJI whether this is the case recently, and the studio has stated publicly that the game won't be a Game Pass title at launch, as you can see below:
https://twitter.com/FinjiCo/status/1479102833915936773?
Despite this, TUNIC will be a console launch exclusive to Xbox when it arrives on March 16th (also releasing on PC), so maybe we'll get it on Game Pass eventually. As of right now though, there's been no word about that.
So, if you want to play this one at launch (we certainly do!), you might want to spend a few of those Microsoft Rewards points on it in a couple of weeks' time. It's not available for pre-order yet, but it shouldn't be long now.
Explore a land filled with lost legends, ancient powers, and ferocious monsters in TUNIC, an isometric action game about a small fox on a big adventure. Stranded on a mysterious beach, armed with only your own curiosity, you will confront colossal beasts, collect strange and powerful items, and unravel long-lost secrets.
Will you be picking up TUNIC at launch this March? Let us know down in the comments below.

Strange that ..il just wait for it to come to gamepass
I'll wait for the review of course, but....I'm perfectly willing to buy a good game lol. Don't let yourselves get TOO spoiled by Game Pass
With anither large game to buy this month, sadly will need to wait a bit to buy it.
Weird that so many, myself included, thought it was coming to Game Pass, not sure why that is.
While I liked the demo, it didn't do enough to make it a Day 1 buy.
If this game gets the same praise as Death's Door, then I will certainly give it a purchase.
I think anytime people see Xbox Exclusive (albeit timed or not), I think they will always assume Game Pass. Hopefully this doesn't prevent sales if the game is great.
I played the demo and it was fine. Not something I want to buy but would play if on GamePass.
Sorry to say this FINJI but think this game may struggle. I'll wait for GP and I guess that so will the majority of people. The Elden Ring sales figures are giving out some suggestions that low figures on the Xbox are because large numbers aren't buying because they have GP. Of course I could very easily be proven wrong.
I'm always happy to pay for great indie games when they are not on gamepass. But if it's more than 40$ I'll wait for a discount
I could have sworn this was at am Xbox show that said it was going to be a gamepass game.
Kind of felt like a poor man's Zelda, honestly. I just wasn't super impressed with the demo. Best of luck to them, though. It's got a great aesthetic.
That's a shame, I assumed it would. That's the danger with gamepass, I just naturally assume any XBox exclusive is on there at launch (same happened with Deaths Door)
The demo didn't really do it for me. Would have given it another shot if it was on GP.
The music also became really repetitive from the demo. I know the full release will be different so I'll see what reviews say.
@StonyKL what low sales figures? If you talking about the UK physical charts:
1) UK is one of Xbox weakest markets
2) Xbox is highly biased in favor of digital sales
Xbox will never look big on UK store shelf sales charts. Honestly, that has been a terrible metric for the industry in over half a decade now.
Has anyone of you played the demo? It wasn't even remotely, even a tiny bit finished. Lost my hope on this one, actually - Game Pass or not.
@armondo36 I’m glad you said this. I don’t think people realize that the idea of “waiting until it comes to Game Pass” is not good, at least in my opinion. If the game is great and reviews well, people should want to support the developer with their money - or at least that’s my thought process. As much as I love Game Pass, I have a hard time seeing it sustainable long term, and I don’t think it’s really that good for gaming for a myriad of reasons.
@StonyKL if most Xbox players are like me I buy more because of game pass , I don't buy the big Microsoft first party so I spend that money on more games and I've paid for a lot of dlc because I've played the game on game pass (like moving out for eg) that I prob wouldn't have touched before ..the downside ....I own a lot of games they announce later on to come to gamepass but mostly by that time I've played it and finished the achievements and prob waiting for dlc
