Ubisoft's pirate adventure Skull & Bones is still being worked on, many years after its initial reveal. That was five years ago now though, so how is development holding up? Well, according to Ubisoft CFO Frederick Duguet, things are progressing nicely.
In a recent earnings report, the company's Chief Financial Officer discussed Skull & Bones. Duguet said that development is going well (thanks TheGamer), and that things are on course, as planned.
Ubisoft's CFO also spoke to investors, who naturally, are keen to know more about the title. Dugent went on to say he was "very happy" with the game's progress, which is now under way at developer Ubisoft Singapore.
These comments come despite a lot of development disturbance on Skull & Bones. The game reportedly reached alpha, finally, last summer, before the game's co-director left Ubisoft entirely earlier this year. Time will tell on this one.
Do you think Skull & Bones will ever actually release? Let us know your thoughts below.

Man I wish they would make a big budget AAA single player pirates game. Story driven type, they keep making MMOs like sea of Thieves and now skull and bone. It's actually odd how no single player pirates game exists that is AAA and not a pirates of the carribean 360 game. The closest we had was Black Flag. There is so much potential in this genre.
@Chaudy couldn’t agree more. Would love to sink my teeth into a single player pirates game.
The signs are not good on this one.
Honestly, at this point I'd far rather they just remastered 'black flag' - the best pirate game I've ever played by a long long way...
@Royalblues
"Skull & Bones is a tactical action game set in an open world environment and played from a third-person perspective."
Almost every preview I can see says its very much like 'sea of thieves' and compares the two.
Not saying the two are not different, but a google search suggests its much more like SOT than not...
skull and bones was my most anticiped game of ubisoft at their first reveal at ubisoft showcase at E3 i hope that game will have a story and they will still focus on the pve rpg aspect without nft please ❤️ can't wait to see more.
