You may or may not be aware of the growing trend of bringing video game related signs to wrestling shows these days, particularly at All Elite Wrestling events, and an Xbox-related one attracted significant attention this past Wednesday.
Yes, someone in the front few rows decided to bring a #BringBackKillerInstinct sign to AEW's Beach Break event this week, and it very quickly ended up getting a lot of attention on social media, as you can see below:
There have been calls for Xbox to bring back Killer Instinct for a long time now, even from Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer himself, and a "vague rumour" recently suggested Bandai Namco might be working on a reboot — so let's hope that rumour comes to fruition!
In related news, AEW is also working on a video game for Xbox at the moment, with the first gameplay shared back in June 2021. It looks to be shaping up very nicely, but there's no release date as of yet, so in the meantime you can get your wrestling fix from the upcoming WWE 2K22 in March.
Do you agree with the sign? Want to see the return of Killer Instinct? Let us know in the comments.

Very nice, very evil sign. No fan of Killer Instinct but I do like the random signs at AEW events 🤣
I agree Fenbops-hausen
@FraserG I saw what you did there Fraser-hausen. I was so excited to see him appear as well.
I was watching the ladder match between Cody and Sammy when I saw the KI sign. Even pointed it out to my son and said OMG someone has a Killer Instinct sign.
The video game signs are one of my favourite things about AEW
KI is and was not a great game never understood the love for it...
@Blessed_Koz KI was hugely important for fighting games. First and foremost, it invented combo breakers. Next, it was the first game to have really long combos, and lastly it formalized the combo gameplay structure we see in lots of other fighting games to this day. It was accessible yet deep. That's not even to mention the cultural appeal it had in the 90s with its characters and music.
Killer Instinct 2013 in my humble opinion is the best game MS put out in the Xbox One days so please give us more!
@stinkyx did you know game designer Ken Lobb was inspired by SNK's World Heroes and Kings of Fighters? Those long combos started life on the Neo Geo.
@Metalder Yeah, I remember him talking about Kim Kaphwan in that one KI documentary! Great documentary btw...wish Fatal Fury and KOF got something like that too.
