Blizzard is currently in the process of being acquired by Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios, and it's just announced that it's working on a brand-new survival game for console and PC, with the hiring process already in full force.
The game is untitled for now, but Blizzard says it's "going on a journey to a whole new universe" with the title, putting out calls for artists, designers and engineers to work on it. Here's a bit of description about the project:
"Blizzard is embarking on our next quest. We are going on a journey to a whole new universe, home to a brand-new survival game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting to be explored."
No further details have been revealed about the game as of yet, although the company has acknowledged that it's in the "early stage" ā so in other words, don't expect many details or anything resembling a release date for a few years yet.
Nevertheless, it's always exciting to get a new game announcement under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella, and it seems a very likely bet that whatever this turns out to be, it'll be available with Xbox Game Pass on day one.

What qualifies as a survival game?
i just want avowed.
Let's not kid ourselves, this will be Xbox console exclusive.
Console and PC? Do those guys not have phones!?
I really hope this game is good jokes aside hey.
Sounds interesting. Blizzard used to make some of the greatest games. They were big moments when their games would release. Most of those big games were on PC, but Iām curious to hear more about it in the coming years.
As Long as its not online co op then I'm interested
Kotick: Isolation. Survive the horrors that is Bobby Kotick as he stalks you for your COD Money, and maybe other personal things too... š¤£
maybe they should fix warcraft first

@LX_FENIX underated comment of the year so far š¤£
@k3lt0n A game where if you don't eat a whole ham every ten minutes you die of starvation.
@Rural-Bandit yes, I want to be clear that it doesn't bother me. I own a Series X but even if I didn't, I wouldn't at all be upset at the notion of this game (or any other Activision game, at this point) being exclusive.
You play as a young game dev working up the latter seeing how long you can continue making Diablo art while escaping the Hord as it tries to convert you into the CoD factory line. As each coworker falls, they become part of the Hord. Threats are around every cubicle.
There's multiple endings. If you can survive through NG+ Phil Spencer arrives on the eighth day and lifts you into enteral green light. If you die before the first ending, Jim Ryan praises your hard work and dedication then leaves you with the tab for his caviar and Dom. If you die in the first chapter, Bobby Kotick gives you a pat on the back, real, real slow as you embrace the Hord....
...
Does survival game mean "zombies"? It means "zombies" doesn't it? Did Activision not get the memo?
@EVIL-C DIY Kotick Hand in the LE?
