We saw a lot of fantastic reactions from Xbox fans getting new consoles (and much more) at Christmas, but one reaction in particular happened to go viral on Twitter — even attracting the attention of Xbox exec, Aaron Greenberg.
Xbox fan and Twitter user s500ivan took to the platform to reveal that his wife had surprised him and his son with a Halo Infinite edition of the Xbox Series X, and as you can see from the video, it led to an incredibly excited reaction:
GM of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg went on to comment on the video, stating that he "love[s] this so much!", and it ultimately racked up thousands of views in a very short time period over the Christmas break.
We always love seeing heart-warming reactions like this — Xbox has been making some people very happy this holiday!
Did you get a new console (or gift one) this Christmas? Let us know down in the comments below.

My wife bought me a Series S for Christmas. It’s my first Xbox since the 360 and I’m so happy. Been having an absolute blast with Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite on Game Pass. Two amazing games! It’s my third console alongside a PS5 and Switch OLED, and I’m beyond grateful and consider myself truly privileged. Buuuuut, I have an annoyingly nagging itch at the back of my mind that we should have plumped for the Series X instead.
Money isn’t exactly flowing through my fingers, but if I could manage to scratch the extra £200 together, should I upgrade? I’m a proper layman when it comes to Xbox consoles these days, so do I really need a Series X? I mean, is Forza and Halo that much better on Microsoft’s flagship console? Or maybe I should stop overthinking it and just enjoy the little white box and its near endless Game Pass treasures.
@The_Pixel_King if you have an abundance of older xbox games on disc and want/need "4k gaming and ray tracing" then a series x is for you. But if not, then the series s will do.
I'm trying not to be that guy, but....ahhh f it! I'm extremely jealous that not only did she get her hands on a Series X, but she got a Halo edition one. How did she pull that off?! Well it still is a heart warming story. Even if I still have to wait for mines. At least I got my daughter a Series S. She's VERY happy with it.
@The_Pixel_King if you really want 4K and raytracing, then yeah go for Series X.
But other than that, stick with the Series S as it can do pretty much almost everything a Series X can do (as same features as Series X such as Quick Resume and also the Series S can play Series X games but at a lower resolution and framerate)
Obviously the only major difference is that Series S is less powerful, cheaper and also it digital only. It also has less storage (but you can expand it anyway)
@PhhhCough @anoyonmus @Microbius Thanks for the replies guys! Yeah, I’ll stick with the S for sure. I’m really enjoying the little system, and I’m not overly bothered with slightly lower resolutions. I was just thinking if the Series X had significantly better visuals and performance, but as that doesn’t seem to be the case, I’m more than happy with what I’ve got. I guess I was having a rare episode of FOMO! Though I will have to get that – ludicrously expensive – storage expansion at some point, as 364GB really doesn’t go very far these days!
Thanks again guys and here’s to a great 2022.
@Microbius That’s a great shout. Thanks!
Awesome reaction!.... glad for them, I reacted the same but that was with an MSX computer in 1984.... I'm getting old
Meanwhile working class people like me were unable to get one because people like her were buying 500 pound machines for a child. Utter disgrace. Had to settle for a pricey elite 2 bundle to get one at all.
I was poking around on the xbox store a couple weeks ago and saw that the add to cart button was active for the halo edition series x. I couldn't belive it, so after a moment's hesitation I added it to the cart but it kept erroring out when I tried to check out.
I looked again the next day, but the button was grayed out.
@The_Pixel_King no problem, man!!!
And yeah Series X really doesn’t have very significant visuals and performance. Even the Series S has games that can run at 120fps but there are some Series X games that run at 120fps that Series S cannot. And besides 1080p or 1440p is very good resolution and anything that is 30fps or higher is good
@Bobarino i was trying the same and if you was on a phone not a Xbox at the time of drop you had next to no chance. And people were buying these 500 quid devices for CHILDREN. give them a 360 ffs
