It was rumoured earlier this month, and now it's been confirmed — Assassin's Creed Valhalla is getting "the most ambitious expansion in franchise history" on March 10th, 2022 in the form of Dawn of Ragnarök.

In the expansion, you'll "become the Norse god Odin as you embark on an epic journey through a realm of myth to save your son and in the face of the doom of the gods." It's supposedly around 35 hours in length (!), and features a map that's one third the size of the base game's England (thanks Eurogamer).

"In a stunning world of Norse Myth, invaders of frost and flame threaten the fate of the Nine Realms. The dwarven kingdom of Svartalfheim is crumbling, and amidst the chaos, Odin’s beloved son, Baldr, has been taken prisoner by the immortal fire giant, Surtr."

"Eivor must embrace their destiny as Odin, the Norse god of Battle and Wisdom. Unleash new divine powers as you embark on a desperate quest through a breathtaking world. Complete a legendary Viking saga and save your son in the face of the gods’ doom."

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök is available to pre-order starting today, coming in at £32.99 / $39.99. You also get immediate access to The Twilight Pack, featuring a gear set, a mount skin and a raven skin.

Based on what we can see so far, it doesn't appear to be part of the AC Valhalla Season Pass.

Better yet, both Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Assassin's Creed Odyssey are also getting a free quest each on Tuesday (December 14th), in which Eivor will meet with Kassandra in Valhalla, and Kassandra will seek a "mystical treasure" in Odyssey. You can watch the trailer for these down below.
