343 Industries has remained largely silent about how many people are playing Halo Infinite so far, but thanks to the Microsoft Store, we know that it's at least the most popular free-to-play title on Xbox right now.
In both the UK and US, the game is sitting at the peak of the 'Top Free Games' chart, with Call of Duty: Warzone settling for second place. This is based on current popularity, so Halo's dominance is certainly no surprise.
The Steam platform on PC gives us a bit more idea of Halo's success right now, with the game's all-time peak of concurrent Steam players currently sitting at a whopping 272,586. The average daily peak is 161,100.
It'll be interesting to see whether the multiplayer portion of Halo Infinite rises or drops in popularity following the release of the campaign on December 8th, but in any case, we're assuming it'll remain a hit for a long time to come.

The king has returned. Absolutely loving it. Wish I could pick the game mode though, got limited time so waiting for only Slayer matches to load is like winning the lottery to finish this week's final Weekly Challenge...may have been temp banned for dropping out just to get those matches though.. 😅😅 Didn't drop any other time until today before I needed to catch a train
Well deserved. I'm already finished with all my weekly challenges and I'm still down for more. 343 has something really special on their hands.
This is going to be an unpopular opinion on purexbox but I still prefer splitgate the most fun I've had on a multiplayer game in years & the fact it was made by a small team on a small budget makes me appreciate the game more
Awesome game. Been playing a ton.

I'm with you on this... I prefer Splitgate.
More fun, also feels like a lower skill barrier, prefer the jump mechanic etc.
Kind of wish there was Splitgate, but with more polished aesthetics.
However, cool to have Halo as well for a bit of variety 👍 And Halo will have the campaign coming, which hopefully provides a few hours of fun.
@antstephenson I think they got 100 & something million in funding after the game was such a success so we should be seeing some improvements with money like that to help with development

Yeah, I heard that. Would also be nice if the grenades could be used on opponents (not just portals). Terrific game though, with lots of fun modes.
