Thunderful Games announced SteamWorld Headhunter today as part of the Thunderful World conference, revealing that the new game in the series will be a 3D, third-person co-op action adventure game.
Accompanying the reveal trailer (which you can watch above) is a description confirming that SteamWorld is being taken in a "fresh direction", with the game serving as a "stylised and colourful adventure with a head-popping twist."
Here's what you can expect from the latest entry:
"Taking the series in a fresh direction, SteamWorld Headhunter is a stylised and colourful, third-person co-op action adventure with a head-popping twist. While maintaining the style and charm that’s helped make SteamWorld such a beloved franchise, this move into 3D represents a brand new approach to the series. Thunderful are excited to share more about their vision for this internally developed title soon."

Or....how about a proper sequel to Dig 2 that ended abruptly right as the game got going?
I'm kind of turned off from I&F/Thunderful after that. It felt like a bait and switch. And it was such a good game otherwise...
@NEStalgia I preferred the guest as I recall. I recall the ending of 2 being a bit eh but I still had fun playing both games. I haven’t tried the other grand in the same universe though.
I’m here for a 3D coop game though.
I still haven't played Quest yet, but I'm a fan of Heist and both Dig games. This one has my attention so far.
@everynowandben Only played heist which was great. Quest is on my wish list but I'm currently burnt on card games between Slay the Spire, Monster Train, and Shadowverse.
3D coop… I think it’s official: they being bought by Xbox 🙃
PSA: SteamWorld Dig 2 is free on GOG right now
Funny. I just watched a movie on Shudder called The Head Hunter. Not a lot of dialog but good none the less. This game reminded me of that.
