After months of set pictures, promotional images and interviews, Sony has finally unveiled its first look at the upcoming Resident Evil reboot movie.
Featuring iconic locations, callbacks to the game, zombies and even a lovely Licker, the trailer has everything a Resident Evil fan could want. That being said, it's wrapped around some cheesy dialogue, questionable CGI and a trailer song choice that needs to be heard to be believed. We're not quite sure what to make of it all, to be honest.
Returning to the origins of the massively popular RESIDENT EVIL franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town.
The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
The original movie franchise gained a cult following but was widely known for being utterly disposable by fans and critics alike. This seems to be more akin to the spirit of the series, but until it's seen outside of this strangely constructed trailer, we're not sure if it will all come together.

Saw it and I liked it. Way more horror and less action.
Unlike the Anderson movies
The CGI looks absolutely terrible. Like Sharknado level.
That said, will definitely be going to see this because it looks like they tried to stick much closer to the games. Looks like a mashup of RE and RE2. And I'm here for it.
It literally took me until the licker scene to realize that was Leon.
Predictably, it doesn't look great, but could be something of a guilty pleasure.
