Pearl Abyss - the South Korean developer behind the MMO Black Desert - shared its premiere gameplay trailer of DokeV at Gamescom's Opening Night Live.
It's been described as a "creature-collecting" game featuring plenty of "open world action-adventure" and seems to have a little bit of everything else, too. Though, one thing it's not is an MMO:
According to the official website, you'll befriend adorable Dokebi that "gain strength from and encourage" people's dreams. Here's a high-energy first-look:
If you're not familiar with Pearl Abyss, you can always check out Black Desert Online with Xbox Game Pass.
While an Xbox release for DokeV hasn't been confirmed just yet, we do know it's targeting a PC and console release, whenever it does arrive.

This looks pretty fun tbh. Crazy but fun.
Shame that Open World Action Adventure doesn't clarify whether it would be full priced AAA game or f2p. I can also consider Genshin as Open World Action Adventure.
Me and the girlfriend both thought this looked equal parts awesome and crazy. Looking forward to seeing more
Amazing. That’s the first surprise game I’ve seen in a while.
Ok, ok... First I thought "Oh, sure. Another Poké-clone."
And then I saw the trailer.
W... Wow ! o_O'
What is this game ? Why nobody's talking about that ? It surely is the biggest surprise of the show, for me ! Cause, you know :
1) Nintendo and Gamefreaks won't likely give us a Pokémon that beautifull. Like, never. So, why someone else should not give it a try ?
2) This does not seems to be, in fact, a Pokémon-clone. It seems to bring some things from the Kingdom Hearts saga as well. Like a KH vibe, I don't know.
But it sure looks freaking awesome !!
This looks impressive, though the creature designs seem underwhelming.
I don't get why these Pokeclones always have such meh monsters, Black Desert is full of interesting designs but here not so much.
All I could think about watching this was I wish pokemon GFX were this good. ☺️
Creature designs aren't the best plus it's more like yo kai watch than it is pokemon
Graphically impressive, but I don't have much desire to play as a five-year old.
