The announcement of Aliens: Fireteam drew a lot of excited attention earlier this week, and now courtesy of IGN, we're able to get a look at a whole 25 minutes of raw gameplay from the upcoming co-op survival shooter.
The footage features 25 minutes of early mission gameplay that cuts between the perspectives of developers Craig Zinkievich (CEO, Cold Iron Studios) Matt Highison (CCO, Cold Iron Studios) and IGN's Ryan McCaffrey, giving us a good look at how the online squad-based shooter works in action.
If you're liking the look of it, Aliens: Fireteam will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at some point this summer, featuring over 20 enemy types (including 11 different Xenomorphs) and five playable classes.
What do you make of this Aliens: Fireteam footage? Let us know in the comments below.

Well, it looks ok in terms of graphics but the aliens seem to be as dumb as in Colonial Marines :/ Frontal attacks, not lurking in the dark, moving around to get the drop on you. I'll wait for reviews before jumping in.
I feel like games based on Aliens, specifically, are in this weird spot in order to be done "right".
Alien Isolation was brilliant - but it captures the spirit of the original. It's downright terrifying and you have little in the way of self defense. It's all about surviving and being smart
With games based on Aliens, if it's a survival horror, it doesn't fit the Aliens movie feel since there are Marines with firepower. You aren't exactly helpless, but Aliens still need to feel tough. Making it purely an action game warrants "dumb" Alien behavior since it still has to have that "action" feel to it. It might as well be COD with Aliens instead of humans.
Would love a game where it's kind of both. Encounters with the Aliens need to be approached with caution. They need to be smart and deadly, but so does the main character. Make it more like the final part of Alien: Isolation only with guns and can actually kill the Aliens.
Slow and steady, like a survival horror, but still have moments of cool pyrotechnics like an action title.

Agreed.
@GamingFan4Lyf In my mind the ideal Aliens game would be a mix of Left 4 Dead's frenetic, mad dash, panic-inducing action against an unstoppable and overwhelming horde, with the Metro games' slow burn tension-building and creeping sense of dread.
@TimG13 I'd play it. Love me some L4D! Can't wait to try Back 4 Blood!
I was more interested in a single-player Aliens (not Alien) game in the spirit of AVP (marine campaign), or Aliens: Colonial Marines done right. However, I probably end up buying this game, since I love everything Aliens, and its guns sound satysfying.
