The first Sonic the Hedgehog movie enjoyed superb success upon release back in early 2019, so it's no surprise to hear that Paramount is making a second one, with a targeted release date of April 8th, 2022.

No details appear to have been unveiled on the movie as of yet, but we've got a short teaser as you can see above, and it's been confirmed that "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" will be the official name of the film.

The movie isn't the only recent Sonic announcement, as Netflix has revealed over the past week that a new 3D animated series from SEGA, Wild Brain Studios and Man of Action will premiere on Netflix in 2022 as well.
