Control Ultimate Edition drops onto the Xbox Store today, bringing lots of lovely next-gen details to the Xbox Series X|S.
Along with all post-launch content being included in the package, Control: Ultimate Edition also contains two modes to choose from. A graphics mode prioritises ray-tracing and full 4K visuals, while performance focuses on maintaining 60 frames per second. The Xbox One version notoriously struggled with its framerate, so it will be great to play with a smooth experience.
Not only that, but the Xbox Store also has the game discounted with a whopping 30% off to commemorate the launch. There's never been a better time to try out Control and the next-gen enhancements look lovely.
Control Ultimate Edition contains the main game and all previously released Expansions ("The Foundation" and "AWE") in one great value package.
A corruptive presence has invaded the Federal Bureau of Control…Only you have the power to stop it. The world is now your weapon in an epic fight to annihilate an ominous enemy through deep and unpredictable environments. Containment has failed, humanity is at stake. Will you regain control?

Aww crap. I was looking for a reason not to buy this. I played the original Control for around 2/3 hours but since I'm such a wuss who hates anything mildly scary (I don't play horror games and although Control isn't outright frightening, it is madly unsettling, which might actually be worse) I couldn't go back to it.
But with these enhancements, the DLC and for £24, I can't resist. Now I just have to find someone to hold my hand while I play...
Still miffed how Xbox has been treated like a second hand customer with this game.
PS had timed exclusive DLC, added to PS Now way before Game Pass, and now PS+ gets the Ultimate Edition for free.
Game Pass users are left with a discarded last gen version and have to pay for the privilege to enjoy the next gen enhancements.
Cheers Remedy!
CD Keys has the ultimate edition for £19 at the moment. I've held off playing the vanilla edition on GamePass so going to pick this up to stretch the legs of my Series X.
Edit: Scratch that. CD Keys has gone up to £24 since this morning.
Is it worth buying to play on Series S? Is it 60fps?
The icon for the series X version has been on my home screen mocking me for a while now. At last I can play it!
I bought this in a Xbox sale around a month ago for about £17, and have been saving it until today...time to fire it up!
bought the ultimate edition last year for $20, just been waiting for the S/X upgrade to drop.
@fabiotc Performance mode will let you play at 60fps, yes 👍
Does anyone know which version to buy for Series X that includes all DLC? Currently there are two versions - Control Ultimate and Control - Xbox Series S/X. The Control - Xbox Series S/X version does not have an "Includes" that shows the DLC, but it's the version that has the discount referenced in this article. It just says "Included In Control Ultimate", which makes it look like you're just buying the base game that's been optimized for Series X but not all the DLC with it.
I’ve just looked on my Series X storage and Control appears on the internal SSD twice!?! One says Control: Ultimate edition, and the other says Control +2 add-ons - is it safe to delete the latter of these two?
Might play this again now for the dlc.. Oh maybe not I thought it was all on gamepass
@Nightcrawler71 yes. Control plus the two add-ons will be the Xbox One version. Control: Ultimate Edition is the Series X version. Check in my games and apps; the UE icon should have the Series X logo in the lower left corner.
