PSA: There's A Way Of Playing Cyberpunk 2077 Early On Xbox

Pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 and now waiting for those final few hours until it unlocks on Xbox? Did you know you can actually play it right now? It sounds implausible, but it's actually true... with a workaround.

The game is actually already available in New Zealand as of a few hours ago, so if you want to get started, you just need to switch your Xbox region to New Zealand in order to do so. We've explained how you can do this below, but try this at your own risk - we've never heard of any problems with this trick, but you can never be sure.

1. Sign in to your Xbox console.
2. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
3. Select Settings > All Settings > System > Language & location.
4. Select your new location from the Location list, and then select Restart now.

Keep in mind that Microsoft advises changing regions can potentially lock you out of changing to another one for a period of three months, although we've never seen any reports of this, so you should be OK.

Of course, if you'd rather just wait it out until the game is officially available in your region, Cyberpunk 2077 will be live at midnight local time across the world, so you've only got a few hours left to go.
