Just before the launch of the Xbox Series X|S this week, Halo 2 actually celebrated its 16th anniversary.
Yep, when Bungie's second game landed on the original Xbox in 2004, it was the first Halo title on the system to allow players to take the fight online, play as the Arbiter and even dual-wield. The story also saw Master Chief return to Earth:
"After the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, Master Chief and Cortana return to Earth in an attempt to stop the onslaught of the Covenant, a terrifying and aggressive alien civilization, bent on destroying the human race."
If you want to relive these glory days, the best way to experience Halo 2 is in its enhanced form in the Halo: The Master Chief Collection. In fact, the 120 frames per-second update for the collection will roll out next week on 17th November.

Ladies like armor plating. Never forget.
Ridiculous. I vividly remember picking up the steelbook for Halo 2 alongside the Crystal Xbox, from Woolworths no less. I played it to death, and it's still up there as one of my favourite games of all time.
Also, bonus: the frame rate on Halo 2: Anniversary has been completely ironed out on Series X. It's a completely new game!
Halo 2 on MCC is amazing..
Hmm my least favourite so far.
So a teenager in a big suit. 😂 Just kidding.
Awesome genre, cant wait for halo to appear.
I'm working through Halo 2's campaign in MCC, right now. Previously, I'd only played the multiplayer in the game. Frankly, the campaign is really great on the game and much better than the first Halo.
I still remember raging at the abrupt ending 🤣
