Have you heard the buzz about this trailer for Black Myth: Wu Kong yet? The game is an action-adventure title from Chinese developer Game Science, and is targeting a PC and console release - built with Unreal Engine 4.
The 13 minutes of gameplay footage you see above is taken from a pre-Alpha version of the game, and showcases fantastic visuals, exciting and varied action, and some menacing boss fights.
According to industry analyst Daniel Ahmad, the small studio (around 40 employees at present) was established in 2014 featuring some ex-Tencent Games staff, but it has only created a handful of mobile and PC games thus far. He suggests the game's release date could still be a few years out - let's hope it makes its way to the Xbox Series X!
What do you think of the footage? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Is it just me or the game looks richer, denser and more detailed than Ghost Of Tsushima on 60fps? Just add some anti-aliasing (DLSS?) on hairs.
That’s pre-Alpha footage? Wow, the final game is gonna look incredible. Can’t wait to see this on the next-gen consoles.
@Z3u5000 in GoT’s defence, Black Myth is obviously running on either a next-gen console or high end PC, whereas GoT is on PS4
"let's hope it comes to Xbox Series X"....no, let's DEMAND that it comes lol. No, seriously Phil.....
@Nightcrawler71 No wrong. RDR2 had denser, richer world albeit with blurry checkerboarding on PS4Pro. Will GoT suddenly change the world art-style on next gen console?
@Z3u5000 why on earth would you start bashing on PlayStation in this article?
Be happy for what is shown. Games are allowed to look better than GoT, no need to do childish comments that only stoke console war.
Also, I put you on ignore because I’m a bit allergic against people who can’t be neutral. So don’t expect another reply from me.
Back to topic: To me the above looks very close to a Souls game from gameplay.
They only said “all major platforms”. With the shown graphics wonder if they will even try getting it running on current gen. I kind of doubt it. But let’s see.
That's a crazy good looking game. Randomly dropped from a Chinese studio out of the blue. Do Chinese studios make a lot of games or is it mostly the western powerhouses?
@tatsumi Games are meant to be compared, people do that all the time with Xbox/other titles in every articles and comment sections. As far as my earlier comment is concerned, this is an open platform and I’m allowed to put my views regarding a new title which resembles the genre/theme of another game. If anyone gets offended or butthurt like a snowflake fangirl without a significant reason, then that’s upto them. Cheers ✌️
Game looks surprisingly good..
Looks amazing. Will def be purchasing this on next gen consoles only, if released. Would be downgraded to hell on current gen consoles, especially with me and my Xbox one. Very intrigued by this.
I'm sorry, what did I just watch?!
I cannot remember the last time I watched a game trailer and was this blown away.
This looks phenomenal, utterly phenomenal.
Nothing shown by anyone so far comes close to this. Nothing.
If this is what next gen can be then we are in for a real treat.
Monkey meets Bloodborne. The game I never knew I wanted
