It's the end of an era, folks! Microsoft's Mixer streaming service is now being removed in a console update for all Xbox One users ahead of its discontinuation on July 22nd.
According to Windows Central, this update went out over the weekend (although we think it might have happened for us a little earlier), but either way, all references to the Mixer service including apps, shortcuts and even the ability to broadcast directly from the Xbox Guide have been removed for us.
As of this Wednesday, Mixer will begin redirecting to Facebook Gaming in a new partnership. However, while the ability to stream from the Xbox One dashboard is being temporarily disabled "so we can build it into a more social experience," players will still be able to use the Twitch app to stream in the meantime.
Sad to be losing Mixer, or aren't you bothered? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

We should start a petition to get built in Twitch and YouTube support.
@Richnj I think the partnership with Facebook would make that impractical sadly.
@Jaxx420 That sounds like a bad deal.
@Richnj Imo it is an awful deal. FB gaming does have a far reach but MS quite smartly don't advertise the association on the Xbox Dashboard, that would be a killer.
I had some good times with Mixer, though I typically don't watch live streaming expect from a rare once or twice every few weeks. It was a good experiment at least.
@Richnj Facebook Gaming won’t be integrated into Xbox platform like Mixer was already confirmed by Microsoft. Twitch and Youtube Gaming would be integrated as implied by "so we can build it into a more social experience," and recent tweet mentioning partnering with Youtube Gaming by Xbox.
👋 Mixer! I never used you even once.
