Update (Tue 16th Jun, 2020 18:20 BST): The demo is reportedly now live via the Xbox Insider Hub and Steam. Enjoy!
Original story (Tue 16th Jun, 2020 13:30 BST): A few days later than originally scheduled, Obsidian is making a free, limited-time demo of its upcoming survival adventure game Grounded available to play for the next week through June 22.
The single-player demo, which goes live later today around 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST, will require you to be signed up to the Xbox Insider program if you want to play on Xbox One. You'll then be able to head into the Xbox Insider Hub to download the demo, which will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Alternatively, it'll also be possible to download it via the Xbox Insider Hub on PC, while non-Xbox Insiders will be able to play the demo (on PC) via the Steam platform instead.
We'll let you know when it's officially released later today!
The world is a vast, beautiful and dangerous place – especially when you have been shrunk to the size of an ant. Explore, build and survive together in this cooperative survival adventure. Can you thrive alongside the hordes of giant insects, fighting to survive the perils of the backyard?
Will you be trying out the limited-time demo for Grounded? Let us know in the comments.

Got it downloading, I'll play later
It gives you half an hour so do as much as you can. I played it twice so I got a little farther after I got the hang of the gameplay.
I must say I wanted to play more and really enjoyed it. It has the crafting, harvesting, and building feel of Minecraft but with a sort of mystery setting. I found an electronic device that I had to turn on before figuring out how to get lasers connected to it from a ways away. I wanted to know what this was about and can only imagine how much more there is to discover.
This is a must buy for me after my play experience. Solid 8 on the demo. Smooth for me, no bugs (except the ones you fight) and an interesting world.
Can only play 30 minutes at a time in the demo but it seemed like a very solid game already. Not usually a fan of games that you have to gather lots of resources but this one seemed to move at a faster pace than most in that genre. Looking forward to trying this multiplayer when the game hits game pass next month.
@xMightyMatt14x the electronic device is basically the end of the demo in terms of the story part, I got it turned on and then got the thank you for playing message. I really enjoyed it, the concept is great and even though I'm not the biggest fan of these survival/crafting games, this one had something that made me want to play more
