It's that time again! We're big fans of the Microsoft Rewards program here at Pure Xbox, which allows you to complete tasks in order to earn redeemable points which can be spent on gift cards, donations and much more.
January 2022's "Monthly Bonus Round" challenge has just begun, and by satisfying a few easy requirements by January 15th, you can top up your account by another 2000 - 2050 points (around £2 / $2).
You'll find this punch card on the Microsoft Rewards app for console, and here's what you'll need to do:
- Complete a Microsoft Bing search on five separate days
- Complete 3 "daily sets" (accessible via Microsoft Bing)
- Earn 3 achievements in Xbox One / Series X / Series S games
- Complete a "weekly set" (on the MS Rewards console app)
- Complete a quiz for up to 50 extra points
If you're new to the Microsoft Rewards program, this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of obtaining points - you can also earn hundreds per-day by completing Bing searches on PC and mobile, earning Achievements in Xbox games, finding Weekly Treasures, pre-ordering specific games and much more. Nice and easy.
I've had my Series S less than a month and already earned about 15k points. Might go on something for Forza.
I'm going to give this a go. Do old games like the original Psychonauts have achievements?
I love this idea but they just don't do much in smaller countries. I live in The Netherlands and there's not as many opportunities to earn the points and therefore the rewards
@Jango-Forest yes, but it won't count. Has to be xbone or series x|s achievements.
@Jango-Forest Psychonauts is an OG Xbox game, none of those have achievements. Only games from the 360 onwards have them but for rewards as @PhhhCough said, the achievements have to be earned on XBO or Series games.
@Shigurui @PhhhCough Cheers, guess I'll have to rethink my strategy this month.
@Jango-Forest The Gunk pops the achievements easily if you haven't played it.
@Gunonaboat you can use a VPN to access the American version of the website which has loads more points available
@ChopperCampbell Always wonder if/when they close that loophole!
It only works for me on my phone; if I change to USA IP (I'm in the UK) I used to be able to bing search over VPN. Now though I can only do the clickable daily changing links, quizzes.
Still rarely do it cus I'm sure they will close that loophole eventually...also it's an extra hassle!
@ChopperCampbell yeah it's a bit of effort to do that but it is possible.
My main point is more that Microsoft doesn't put the same effort in for all countries and it's disappointing...
Even though they usually state Xbone and Series achievements they do sometimes work with 360 games too. Can't remember if it was last month's monthly bonus or another punch card with achievements, but was surprised when it popped while playing Dante's Inferno.
@dmcc0 Dante's Inferno would have either popped the quest for earning an achievement in any Game Pass title or contributed to the play x amount of GP titles quest as EA Play are classed as GP games. Another recent one was simply to play Dead Space.
@Shigurui Maybe wasn't the monthly bonus, but there was definitely something recently that popped when I was playing a 360 game despite the description saying it was for One/Series. I remember wondering what game I could play for easy achievements, but they'd already completed so didn't need to pick something.
