I was watching Netflix on my Xbox one a couple of nights ago, when all of a sudden a sizzling sound along with a white smoke escaped the vent above the fan, accompanied by a strange smell of burnt plastic of something.
I switched it off and opened it up for the first time in years(I bought it like 6-7 years ago)cleaned out the tons of dust and put it back and switched back on and went right back to Netflix.
A day ago I was playing some games on there and it just switched of and never went back on.
Please help and don't tell me that it's time to bury it π₯Ίπ’

There's your problem. You should be cleaning it out regularly rather then every 6 to 7 years, I am quite surprised it lasted that long without cleaning it.
Anyway sounds like the perfect time to upgrade to a Series X.

@DMVXX it looks like a problem with the power output so I wouldn't touch that area unless you know what you're doing (which I assume you don't or you wouldn't be asking for help here ). But why not get to a shop in your town specialized in repairs just to see if it is still possible to give it a few more years at least.
@DMVXX If you have an external USB harddrive from your Xbox One, you can just use that on the Series S. You only need more memory if you get alot of S/X versions of games.
