For those getting the Xbox One at launch, what were you planning to pick up at launch.

I'll be grabbing
Xbox One system (doesn't matter if its the day one edition or not)
Xbox Live 12 month day one edition
Headset
Forza 5
Ryse
Dead Rising
Watchdogs
FIFA
Killer Instinct

When I eventually get an Xbox One (I'm thinking sometime in 2015 at the latest, as long as that dumb check-in doesn't come back) I'll be looking at Forza 5 from the launch lineup. That's really it. If I were getting the system day one it'd be Forza 5 and Watch_Dogs.

I'll wait & get a Xbox One sometime after a Wii U which I'll definitely have to get next year when X comes out.

Lol.  I will probably end up getting Watchdogs on either Xbox 360 or the Wii U.  I am leaning towards the Wii U to up my Wii U library and to support third party games on the Wii U.  The only thing that will stop me from getting it on the Wii U is if they short change the game compared to the other console versions.

Watch_Dogs  will be getting extra content on the PS consoles though.

That right there makes me not want to get the PS versions.  I hate when companies do that. If you arent going to give all versions the same thing then why make it for other console?

I look at it differently, I'm going for the one that has the most content. If Sony paid Ubisoft for it I don't blame for taking the money. I'd rather that then paying third parties to keep certain games off other platforms all together. You miss out on maybe an hour of content so it's not a huge deal but I look at is if I have the option to play the version with the extras, I might as well.

Not sure yet what I'll get at Launch. Will see what bundles are available. Pre ordered my Day One Edition but can upgrade to a bundle if I like nearer the time.

Will be getting Forza, Ryse, Dead Rising. Not sure on Watchdogs whether ill get that for my Wii U. May end up getting it for Both just to see the differences.

i decided to get the PS4 at launch instead as i can only afford one this year and £80 is a lot i can get 2 games and i would still be spending less than buying a XB1

but i will be getting a XB1 just not at launch unless MS did a version without the Kinect at around the same price as the PS4, if they did that i would so get the XB1 first

See thats how I feel.  Honestly I dont think we will see a version without the Kinect which is a shame.  I wouldn't be surprised if they cant cause of the coding used to make the Xbox One work with the voice commands and such.  The Kinect along with the voice commands and movement commands seems to be the thing that sets the Xbox One apart from the PS4 and the Wii U.

I wouldn't expect for Kinect to be taken out, and that's arguably a good thing. Voice commands are increasingly becoming more popular and accepted as a way too interface with tech. Plus it guarantees developer support.

I hate how Sony in one swoop just killed all potential support for the PS eye and Move.

I'd probably still get the PS4 first because I like Sony's first party studios better than MS' but if both were $400 it'd be a much tougher decision, and I'd be looking to get an Xbox One a lot sooner than 2015 if it were a bit cheaper.

And I hate the fact that MS forces it upon you.

Honestly both companies are handling it wrong if you ask me.  I think that they should give the people the option of using the Kinect/PS eye rather than forcing you to use it or not giving you the option.  They both should have released two bundles one with and one without.

See, I don't agree there. Microsoft gave people the option of Kinect last time round, as did Sony with the PSMove. In both cases, the peripherals didn't sell enough to make developers and publishers throw decent resources at making games for them - the result being crappy games.

With Kinect in the box, developers KNOW that everyone has the peripheral, and therefore have a larger target audience. I don't know why Sony aren't including the Eye/Move with the console. It'll end up like the last generation, where Move only sees one average/appalling compatible title every three months.

thing is though Sony are selling the PSEye at about £50 separately (so i wouldn't be surprised if stores them selves do a bundle) and i saw on amazon that you could order both at once for about £400 that's still a saving of £30 over the XB1 but the main thing is that's it's optional so whoever wants it can have it and those that don't want it don't have to but MS are saying you have to have it

now i agree that with every XB1 having a Kinect more developers might use it in their games but then again if that means more games like Steel Battalion Heavy Armor i don't think that's a good thing

also i don't think Sony care much about motion controls it was a bit of a fad that's had it's day i think

not that the Kinect isn't impressive but i like a lot of others just don't want one, i buy a game to relax and have fun not jump around like a idiot, that's why i think Sony are doing it right maiking it optional and at a reasonable price so those who want it can still get it but those that don't wont have it forced on them

i think that made sense?

I see what you are saying there Ken but forcing the product onto the public isn't the way to go with it like MS but not really mentioning it like Sony isn't smart either.

Really what it comes down to is advertising.  If these devices have better advertising to get people to want them than developers would make games for them.  Honestly I really didn't see to many ads for either move or Kinect nor do I see any must have games for either of them.

Of course I am also on the mindset that FullbringIchigo is and that is I want to play games to relax not swing around and jump around in my living room after a hard days work, but having them as option for those who do like it is what a smart company does.  I also think the whole motion control thing was a fad as well and well that boat has sailed.

Heck I find it funny that the one who started the whole motion control last gen with the Wii has pretty much steered away from it this gen.  I mean Is there any Wii U game out there besides Nintendo Land that makes use of motion controllers like the Wii did?  I notice that Resident Evil Revelations doesn't have the motion controls that Resident Evil 4 Wii edition did.  I didn't use any motion controls on Injustice: Gods Among Us or Lego City Undercover or Assassin's Creed III?

I do see what you're saying, but again, I have to disagree. They may be "forcing" the product onto the public, but the simple fact is that it isn't JUST Kinect-only games that will benefit from having a larger install base. Developers will be more tempted to play around with Kinect to see what it can add to their main titles, meaning that the industry as a whole takes a step forward to see where this motion gaming thing can take us. It isn't just jumping around in front of the TV, either. How about Dead Rising, where you have to keep quiet so as to not alert the zombies? Or a game where you could fire MIND BULLETS by tapping your head, rather than switching to your mind bullets with the controller, aiming, and then firing?

Kinect is more than just dancing and sports, or at least it can be now that the install base will be there. Microsoft knows that nobody will buy a $100 Kinect if it's optional, after the last time around. It's this, or cut the whole thing out completely and give up - and given that we haven't seen anything like the full potential of alternative control devices as yet, I'm glad that they didn't take that route.

Motion gaming may look like a fad on the surface, but the Wii, Kinect v1, and PlayStation Move have opened the way for a million and one potential game-changers.
