With the first DLC pack releasing worldwide "tonight", I thought I'd make a thread for any comments at all specific to this initial expansion. Was it worth the price? How do you feel about the changes in architecture to the game? Anything and everything The Dark Below, throw it down right here.
I don't have it yet (damn work getting in the way) but as soon as I get home, I'll be there. So excited, even though the lowest activity seems to be a lvl 30 and I'm only a 29....
"Justin Bieber looks like a lesbian i'd like to ****..." - Megakillscreen, out of frickin' nowhere!
The new missions are tough - certainly at higher difficulty even if you are on a level (i.e level 30 character) - disappointed you can't select to redo them afterwards though.
The new Strike is certainly brutal too and not sure if it will be possible to 'solo' on Nightfall yet. Admittedly though it does have Arc Burn and most enemies use Arc which obviously makes it more tricky
The Raid is different to the VoG but still requires teamwork, communication and co=ordination.
So far I have enjoyed the content and probably already had around £1 per hour value out of the content and barely scratched the surface - fast approaching 1,000 hrs overall on Destiny...
A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!
Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??
Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

That's a great way of evaluating content/cost, say you go to a cinema for the latest show, you'll be spending about $5-6/Hr just for the admission.
That's insane - how do you find that much time for gaming? I was shocked when I went on the smartglass app and discovered I'd spent 60-odd hours playing AC: Unity but 1000 hours... that's like 5 entire weeks (all day and night).

I try and break down a game to its most basic when assessing its 'Value' in terms of costs. I know there is other values in playing games but for me when justifying a purchase is the value is the cost per hour. I see cannot justify spending £15 on the ID@xbox games (for example) if I am only likely to play them for a few hours as the cost per hour is a lot higher than paying £45 for a AAA title that I will get at least 100hrs out of.
I have probably already spent more than 20hrs on the DLC content...

My head has nearly exploded...
It certainly surprises me how long I have spent on some games. It certainly doesn't seem as long as the figures they tell me. Its easy for me to find the time as I live alone and don't work due to disability. I would never have thought I spent that much time on this...

Minecraft was my time sink (still is when I get the bug again from time to time) but I do think it's a bit scary sometimes when you look and see just how much time we spend on these things (assuming that the hours tracked is accurate).
