Topic: New To Xbox One? Say Hello Here!

Hi everybody!

Got treated to a Xbox One for Christmas to sit along side my ps4, mainly so I could replay Halo and Gears of war. Got to say I'm loving it so far!
I've been visiting the site for a few months in the build up to xmas, so thought now would be a good time to introduce my self. I'm 27, male and from the UK.

Will mainly be playing Halo, Gears of War, Forza and FIFA. So feel free to give me an add.

Welcome to the club. If I may make a recommendation, Sunset Overdrive is an awesome game, and I've seen it going for as low as $20 these days. Whenever you get a chance I'd say check it out, especially if you've liked any past games from Insomniac.

I often play mainly shooters online - games like Destiny (co-op not PvP), CoD:BO3 (both co-op and PvP) and Gears of War (co-op and PvP) but also happily play other genres/games if I have them

@DesignateTurian Great stuff, and I'm really looking forward to playing with y'all (good thing I got EA Access in my bundle so I can play games like Titanfall). Just added you on Xbox (gamertag is Zerodactyl).

I used to be an active NintendoLife user in 2014 and a bit of 2015 (I was a Nintendo maniac), but I decided to try out something new and get an Xbox One. Absolutely loving it so far, and the games are beautiful.

Being the second "staff" member in here, welcome y'all, I see Des has rolled out the welcome wagon...

Any ideas for games to play together with like minded friends would be gratefully received, I'm thinking maybe a Forza 6 night may be on the cards fairly soon?

Hey @Fink-Nottle. Firstly a warm welcome to pureXbox! It's always great to get people trying out the Xbox and discovering a great gaming community along with it. I'll give you an add and I'm sure your voice isn't that bad If you think yours is bad, check out my Twitch streams and you get the idea of how good (read: bad) I am.

If you are looking for some games to play and people to play with we run a few Games Nights every-so-often. Games such as Titanfall and Forza, a big favourite of @Red620Ti, another Community Ambassador. And if you are looking for that Splatoon-y vibe then I thoroughly recommend checking out Plants vs Zombies. There's a new one coming out in March which @MegaKillScreen, one of our other Community Ambassadors (we're everywhere!!), is champing at the bit to get a Game Night running for.

Regarding the Xbox Preview Program there is little point in joining currently since backwards compatibility launched to everyone in November. In addition we found that Microsoft reduced the number of players being accepted into the program during the backwards compatibility testing period due to increased demand. Some members invites took several weeks with others not appearing at all.

@Red620Ti: Fortza 6 sounds awesome for a gamenight, I'd also be up for Halo 5 or Diablo!

Hi! The only game out of that list that I play is Forza ... well the Horizon games. I do have Gears, but I rarely touch it. I did add you as a friend, but my username on live is GrasslandBandit.

i have the xbox one and a ps4.ps4 in office and xbox one in lounge, but i'm finding people on xbox to be very unfriendly and theres alot of nastiness on there....ive never had any trouble on ps4.
I also find xbox to run very slow and loading times especially on black ops 3 to be awful.
I did enjoy the console at first but the negative environment is making me think of selling this for another ps4...
Maybe i'm just unlucky with who ive met...my screen name is captain britain and some guy messaged me yesterday to say "F*ck the queen" , very strange,totally uncalled for i left the lobby and blocked the idiot.
any one else had much unpleasantness?
