Been offered this game for £25 and I can't watch TV without seeing an advert about this lately... so my interest in this has increased a lot...
As a total Noob (not played the beta) - those of you that have played it... could you offer a bit of insight into the game please?
Want to know if you can you play it like Skyrim on your own and just explore, do quests and stuff? Is there a story and can you complete it on your bill? Also how does it compare graphically with Skyrim/Oblivion - is it just as pretty or is it more sparse and repetitive with it being online. Oh and do other players randomly appear / harass you in your game or is it just you if you want it?
So far I've done it on my own, witha bit of co-op. The mechanics are immediately like Skyrim, the compass markers and so on, the combat feels familiar and so on. As far as Graphics go I've only really pottered around a small island so far, but it looks impressive, good draw distances, etc. Only problem is the netcode isn't brilliant, (I crashed out twice in 3 hours last night) and wherever you look, idiots are being idiots. At least they can't hurt you....

Thanks for that... so it's a bit like Destiny with loads of randoms running around teabagging corpses and jumping around like their arse is on fire then...

Graphically it's not on a Par with Skyrim though still ok. It's about the same as most mmorpg's. You can complete all of the storyline pretty much solo but a couple of the quests will prove to be a challenge (I did em that way but I think depending on your character choice they can prove difficult). In other words, some quests are a challenge for mages, others a challenge for warriors etc. in that case, hang around the area, join up and leave as soon as it's finished. Obviously dungeons and MP content need you to join with others.
Er...I must have missed it. Spent the last hour before I came to work swearing at ghosts!
If you do it, you'll be about lvl8 when finished so makes the 3queen quest doable solo. Also, don't forget to collect the skyshards (blue columns of light), there are 6 in the roost which equates to 2 skill points (3 shards = 1 skillpoint).
Thanks for the input chaps, I've decided to take the plunge and give it a go. Hopefully I can juggle this and the Witcher as long-term, slow-burn games whilst still making time for Arkham Knight and anything else that crops up in the meantime lol
I had classic Bethesda bugs this morning, invisible quest givers, and I was killed twice by an invisible enemy on the beach. Sad Purely Gash was sad (Purely Gash is my character, along with her sister, Gashly Pure)

You weren't wrong about people being idiots in this game... I did the tutorial/prison breakout section and it wasn't too bad... had a few people running around like headless chickens but it wasn't that distracting... however once I got to the trading post place it was like I'd been transported into some pre-pubescent bizarro world. Naked characters running around everywhere, having sex on the floor (no idea how they got their characters to do that) and generally just making a nuisance of themselves everywhere I went - the chatter coming through my TV was annoying as hell too but I managed to turn that off in the options. It's hard to get immersed in a medieval fantasy world when all this tomfoolery is going on around you...
Compared to the Witcher it does feel a bit dated and clunky but the environments and buildings sure are pretty...
When people aren't being asshats its pretty good...I spent some time this morning running around, helping lower levels out with fights and stuff. One thing that bothered me was the mining of iron ore...Me and another guy started mining at the same time, but he got the stuff and I didn't!

Think last rollo, only one of you can have it! As regards to nookie monsters, I haven't seen any. When it comes to armor, you can't be wearing it when you upgrade it and people, surprisingly, often forget to put it back on!
It's not a solo experience and it tends to settle down after a while. Haven't seen many bots in the delves which is a good thing. We really need the guild up and running to get some trading in, then you can rely on one speciality and forget about the others. I bagsy anything apart from enchanting. Chef, clothing, alchemy, woodwork or metalwork, all good for me.
I'm in... Private voice channel(s) bank and store are some of the advantages. Should make trading a bit easier.
I can pretty much craft anything (armor and weapon) with most traits and sets (sets v important) as I've set up one of my toons as a dedicated crafter You supply the materials and stones and improvers if you have them.
I wouldn't bother until you get to lvl 16 and by then you should have settled on a play style. See you in there hopefully.
@Phathippy, the campaign is completely separate from the main story and can be played at the same time, as can trips to Craglorn. There is a minor problem though, whilst your stats get bumped up to allow you to compete, your weapons and armor don't so if you try to go pvp against high level players you'll get steamrollered so stick with a group or don't go wandering around in the wilderness.
Go through the intro stuff then try to get involved in a keep or something.
